Soundproofing wasnt great, someone snoring in the lower room could clearly be heard and the gulls are very loud all night. The room was ok and we enjoyed our stay in whitby very much.
We had a lovely 1 night stay in suite 5.
It was really spacious, modern and clean!
Everything you needed was there 😊
The metal work around the front was beautiful! So detailed!
Will definitely book here again!
Thank you
East instructions sent via email. Clean room ideally situated. Tea and coffee available. Toiletries provided. Pin codes on both doors. Room was small but sufficient. Will definitely stay here again.
Room was ok small but ok room clean easy to access . The only problem we had was noisey neighbours upstairs coming in at 1.30am shouting and argueing they even camped outside our door at one stage.
We did have a very nice stay and the accommodation was on the whole, great. If I had to point out a few slight complaints, the pillows on the bed with the plastic covers under the pillow case where annoying and the plastic bags on the towels were not very eco-friendly. Also the disabled lift was permanently out of order(Based on the sign in the lift). These are small things and overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
The room was tiny, had to close the bathroom door to access the shower and could barely walk around the bed. The room I had was clean and tidy but nowhere big enough for two people. For one person it was ok.
We found out room ok for what we wanted all clean .being on the bottom floor found noise from up stairs moving about but that can't be helped.biggest downer was parking I think it should be free first come first serve as the saying goes .parked on road with scratch card.anoying waking up and car park to rooms were empty . overall enjoyed .

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service
Would I stay again? No.
There was no reception and the room was difficult to find due to bad instructions and poor signage. The room itself was fine... Slept terribly, the room needs better sound proofing the seagulls scream all night and a fan would be good

I probably did not do enough research as to how Discovery hotels work
The Virtual customer service once I got through was polite and helpful but it took 40 minutes to get through. I was asking for a blanket as duvet was very thin. The heating was nt very efficient and in December more detail should be given
Housekeeping - if you could find any - very nice and helpful
Would book again in summer

There was no bed+breakfast as was advertised on the website!!! The room was beautiful, but doesn’t justify £54 a room a night just to sleep in with no Bed n breakfast! My room wasn’t cleaned in 4days of me staying! + dogs barking in the very early morning a found was a problem aswell,A don’t think a would stay ere again as a pets are an issue for me!!!
Terrible we was given 8 very small milk pots and 6 tea bags for 3nights 4 days couldn't get a shower as the shower door didn’t close to the end of shower curry stain on sheet pillows felt like sleeping on bags of crisps an very noisy bed leg ready to snap an bent couldn't fill kettle up as didn't fit in bathroom sink no other water supply bedroom bangs and rattles if window open nowhere to hang towel in bathroom no toilet roll holder one small soap an shampoo given for length of stay for 2 people 4 tv channels very uncomfortable stay we stayed from having to go get our morning cuppa at 7.15 until 9 on the evening.
I will never use this hotel company again changed my hotel from silver Street the day before we was due to go even though it was booked 6 months in advance to seabreeze what a damp and unclean dump how can a company just change your booking to a place like that it even looks not appealing from the outside and the reviews for Seabreaze says it all we just found a guest house around the corner which was superb and stayed there instead.
The postcode given was not for the property we was staying at. No reception and poor signage in property. Dirty looking out front and dark inside. Room small and very basic poor ventalition and not equipped for elderly people. Couldn't upgrade room but couldn't. No parking at all. Communication unclear by staff and owner. More like a prison cell people complaining about the hotel. One young girl was only person that was helpful and polite. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. But Whitby very beautiful and sea nice.
Website for property did not say room was on 3rd floor. Wife disabled and struggled with location as no lift, also omitted from website.
Unclear room was room only, was expecting B&B, Breakfast facilities would have been a 5 minute walk away in another property. Room windows would not stay open, not airconditioned and no fan provided. Website said no kitchen facilities so did not bring own food, but when arrived induction hob pans, kettle and toaster provided. Floor in bathroom listing not fitted correctly and shower draining too slow for shower output so nearly floods the bathroom when shower is on. stains on the towels provided. bedding washed but not ironed bed sheet badly creased.
Upon arrival we had a nightmare when we found no reception of anybody to talk to, phoned the number provided on front door a few times before getting through to finally soaking to somebody, to then be told I should have received an email with where my room is and the door codes, I didn’t receive any emails, the lovely lady on the phone the advices she will resend the email so I waited 15-30 mins and still nothing, so I phoned back up and was told the room address and door codes to get inside. This is where it went downhill, the room itself has the loudest floorboards I’ve even steps on and the bed is absolutely ridiculous, had to be a small double at most, whenever you move the slightest bit the whole bed creaks like a hurricane is going off. Then the smell, the smell is by far the worst part about my experience so far, there must be some drainage issue nearby or something as the stench in the room is just unforgiving. Me and my pregnant partner had to actually leave the room and go for a 30 minute walk just to be away from the smell, maybe this is a nearby drainage issue and no fault of the hotels but it’s ruined my stay.
We stayed in a lovely little cottage that was 3 stories. It was lovely and quirky.
Location was a tad tricky to find but no issue there is on street parking for some evening periods if you work it out. Would love to stay again
Everything we needed and peaceful. x Recommend especially after some of the reviews I read.
Ok,a lot of hard work has gone into making this location clean, tidy, themed, and 10 minutes walk from everything, parking is a slight issue, but let discovery help you,get the parking pass, personally,i parked up for our 2 night stay and used public transport to travel anywhere, because, lose your spot at your peril!
When we first arrived,there are 2 number 14's in Silver street,one is someone's house!,yup,walked in,got redirected,5 minutes later,found our accommodation,the doorcodes work with a little practise,the wifi didn't connect,never mind.
There are some residents living just behind the property who get visited by the less fortunate possibly homeless people, they make a little noise, then move on once they have what they came for,i witnessed nothing, but you join the dots together, you can't pick your neighbours, but it tarnishes the area slightly,i shall mention it to discovery, because at 2.30 am,no thanks, but i must say,all things being even,we felt secure, the accommodation is lovely, the location is superb,Whitby is fantastic,I'd give Discovery 9.5 out of 10,they have an office 2 minutes away as well, should you need assistance,we figured out bits for ourselves which added to the fun.
Overall the room was comfortable. The bathroom needs looking at. No shelving in the shower for shampoo etc and the bathroom floor was wet through after taking a shower. We stayed for 3 nights and didnt have a change of bedding or extra milk, tea and coffee left.
The room was lovely and clean. The bed sloped so that your feet were higher than your head. So had to sleep head at the foot end. A bit of a delay getting the text message to tell us our room number and entry code. There was a gentleman who was helpful. The system is good just needs to be more timely
