"Very friendly and helpful staff. Great place for short stays. Nice breakfast. 12 -15 minutes walk from centre. Rooms are basic and small but adequate. "

"Lovely hosts, room was nice, spacious and good to have a living area rather than just a bed to lay on. Breakfast was incredible, best I have had (I've had a few!)."

"We used the Pickled Parson as a home base for a month while visiting family. The room we had for that duration of a stay was a little small, but it was comfortable, clean and made up daily. The staff were all amazing and really made us feel at home. A very relaxed atmosphere with great breakfast options. The bar was a great option to wind down at the end of the day with a night cap.

"Started with a booking issue via Expedia (small double rather than a king-sized bed booked) but resolved directly with the Hosts. Great location, opposite the park and lovely, solid furniture in the room. Parking permits available in the property for a small fee worked well. Just the shower could do with an update. If we visit again, I'd book a room with a bath."

"A big, bright room with a great view of the harbour and the Abbey on the hill.
This is an older-style hotel, not a modern concrete box. Lots of character features.
I’d happily stay here again."
"A lovely and unique place with stunning views over Whitby towards the Abbey (we had a room faving that way!)
We were made very welcome and had a lovely stay! Would definitely go back and check out another one of their rooms!"
"Not a 4 start hotel, more like 2. Bathroom was damp and had hair on the floor. The whole room dingy. Noise from cars outside. Reception at the pub across. Lovely stuff I must admit. Expensive for what it is so won't go there again."
"If your looking for peaceful quiet holiday place away from the crowds this place is perfect nothing but countryside around the Windmill Inn, country walks are just 50 yards away from the front door, the breakfast is amazing best I've had in a long time, the dinner menu is very good also & they sell Morretti my favourite drink at the bar, they gave a dart board & pool table inside the pub.
All I could hear on a morning & evening was birds singing because the Shepherds Huts are surrounded by trees & away from the busy A171 main road.
There's wi-fi inside the pub or around the back on picnic tables so perfect for my teenage boys which allowed me to have the t.v all to myself on an evening which had freeview channels.
Coffee/ tea making facilities inside the huts & more spacious on the inside then they look from the outside.
Walking distance to Aldi & a lovely bakery that serves lunchtime food.
I parked up outside the pub & walked down to the A171 gor the X93 / X94 to take us into Whitby one day & Robin Hoods Bay the day after, so I didn't have the stress of finding a car park space."
"I’ve stayed in hotels all over the world without ever making comment but this time I will.
It is quintessentially Yorkshire charming.
The location is also great for walking into town. Parking is easy and the staff are so very helpful."
