"Great location for getting around Whitby. Shame about lack of car parking. Shower drain in our room was prone to blocking. Concerned it might flood the downstairs. We did mention it to staff. Overall a pleasant stay. Might be an idea to mention the stairs leading to upper room as less mobile guests may struggle"
"La Rosa turned out to be the most unusual hotel we've ever stayed in. The location is excellent, the ground floor tea rooms barely used but tables perfect for board games and jigsaw puzzles. Stairs quite a lot so do check if you have mobility issues. Rooms what can I say very atmospheric and quirky so check the photos carefully so you know what you are signing up for. No TV hallelujah. No shower but hey we have one at home whereas we don't have an old fashioned deep bath so what an experience. Staff were friendly, as was the elderly dog who was clearly in overall charge.
Definitely a holiday to remember."
"lovely place, nice rooms and bathrooms. lovely sea view from high floor room although it is alot of stairs to walk up.
Doors use a code to open which is easy to use.
Top floor room did get quite hot and only had one small roof window to open, a fan would be a helpful addition in summer months"
"Free parking in a smallish off road private parking area opposite. Check in was quick with very friendly and helpful staff. Room was a good size, clean, modern and with all the amenities you need. Breakfast was outstanding! All waitress served off a comprehensive menu in a well laid out dining room with attention to detail. The cooked breakfast was excellent and overall what you would expect from a very high end hotel really. I did not have dinner so cannot comment much on that except it was £30 for 3 courses which looked very good considering its decent menu.
Overall the Saxonville hotel really exceeded my expectations and was very good value for money. I thoroughly recommend and I travel a lot."
