My mum and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. It's the second time we have stayed here, and I would definitely recommend it. The staff are amazing, so nice and friendly! The breakfast was top quality and the pool was really clean. I love this hotel, I cannot fault it at all 🙂

The room was nicely furnished (including with antiques, which is an unusual touch), coffee for the machine in the kitchen, clean. Location handy both for Whiteladies Road and the city centre. I emailed asking about parking on site but received no response whatsoever, which was disappointing.

No croissants at breakfast, tour group hoovered them all up. Uncooked haddock at breakfast. Key card failed to work twice. Car blocked in in car park.

Lovely city, with a variety of bespoke shops and popular stores. Wells Cathedral is beautiful. Unfortunately there was a woeful lack of gluten-free meal options in the cafes and restaurants in the city, spent an hour searching in vain for lunch.

Bristol

HMP Shepton Mallet, sometimes known as Cornhill, is a former prison located in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England. When it closed in 2013, it was the United Kingdom's oldest operating prison, and had been since the closure of HMP Lancaster Castle in 2011. Before closure Shepton Mallet was a category C lifer prison holding 189 prisoners. The prison building is grade II* listed, while the former gatehouse and perimeter walls are grade II. It is also reported to be the most haunted prison in England. Take a tour around this amazing establishment steeped in history, guided by a former prison officer - certainly worth a visit.
