"Fantastic location and great hotel . Breakfast was amazing"

"Great breakfast, ok location and excellent bar and breakfast staff. The people on reception usually set the tone for what you can expect during your stay. On this occasion I was a little bit surprised by how the receptionist enjoyed telling me and my 4 year old son what we couldn’t do because we were early for check in (unprompted: check jn, use the pool, not to expect a call when our room was ready). We were early. and all i wanted to do was hand our bags over. We did that but I had to ask if we could do that rather than being asked if we would like to do that. Sounds a bit picky u know, but I also had to revisit reception to ask if I needed to do anything with regard to the parking machine just off reception. I was advised that we didn’t and told ‘not to touch the machine’. Nine if it was malicious at all, all done with a smile, but it did make me think, Christ you (receptionist) enjoyed that exchange! Anyway, we had lunch in the bar whilst waiting for our room. Bar staff were amazing with my boy. Went to reception at 2pm and yes our room was now available. We were sat in line of sight of the receptionists they could have let us know our room was ready. Picky I know, but am used to a friendly welcome not a condescending one."

"We just returned from a wonderful two-night stay at The Resident, Liverpool. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous; our room was lovely, and the kitchenette was a fantastic, thoughtful touch. ​On our first night, we noticed some noise from the local nightlife. Since we’d forgotten to pack earplugs, we asked reception if they had any on our way to breakfast. Not only did they provide them free of charge, but by the time we sat down for breakfast, I had an email from the manager offering to move us to a quieter room. We hadn't even asked for a move, so this proactive service was a brilliant surprise! They even handled the transfer of our belongings while we were out exploring. The staff truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We won’t hesitate to return and are already looking forward to trying other Resident locations."

"Staff were very friendly. Very clean room. Didn't spend an awful long time in the room except for sleep so can't really comment on the bar and food."

"Air conditioning did not work, body wash in the shower was empty, unable to open the window at all, no microwave, no fridge. Staff was very nice and in a good location. Did not try the bar or restaurant but did hear live music. It's an ok hotel in a good spot but honestly overpriced most likely because of the theme. "
