"My partner and I booked this property however when we arrived at 7pm, there was a large gate blocking the entrance and no one was there. We tried and tried to call and message the property and never received a response. La Fortuna is somewhat out in the country without many on the spot lodging options. It took us until 945 pm before we were able to get a far from desirable accommodations. We were preparing to sleep in our car by that time. We have yet to receive a refund or response. There...

"Went here for our honeymoon & we loved this place. The property is so beautiful, lots of beautiful flora & fauna around (we saw monkeys & toucans)! The bungalows are immersed in the jungle but still walkable to anything on the property. The rooms really exceeded our expectations, they look even better than the pictures! The only con was that a few bugs, ants & geckos snuck in. We saw there was a big gap at the bottom of the door but I think if this was fixed it would be perfect. The bugs weren’t that much of a bother anyway, just had to make sure food was sealed up or thrown away. The staff was very attentive and kind. Most all of the food we ate was good, with the exception of the pizza which we ordered via room service. Drinks were great! Could see ourselves coming back here :)"

Arenal Manoa & Hot Springs Resort

"We traveled to CR in late May, 2026, with our two boys (age 14/11). The property is lovely - clear views of the volcano (aside from the mist covering). Lots of birds to spot, & the grounds are well maintained. We stayed in their smallest room - two queen beds. The room was nice but basic. There is a small fridge/coffee pot/kettle & they supply coffee/tea. There is a hair dryer as well. The room is very humid, even with AC, but that is not the fault of the hotel. You may find it tricky to dry any wet clothes :). The shower lacks both pressure & a lot of heat, but both are common in this region. The pool is nice & was a comfortable temperature. We enjoyed their happy hour from 4-6, & that included some free mocktails for our kids! The hot springs were really beautiful - likely given the time of year, but they were quiet & it was easy to find some privacy. We did eat in the main restaurant on our first night - the food was delicious, but a bit pricey for what it was (not uncommon in CR). The next night we did pizza at the pool - the pizza was delicious and much more reasonably priced. We were going to eat off property our last night to save a bit of money, but for some reason the front desk called us and let us know that we were entitled to a free meal - what a lovely treat! We still don't know why, but it was such a lovely gesture. I would highly recommend this property, especially those traveling with kids."

Paradise Hot Springs - Thermal Water & Volcano Views

"This hotel was great! The hot springs were wonderful and the staff were so friendly and helpful! Our room was very nice and clean- no problem with any bugs at all. The shower was wonderful- very hot and great water pressure. The free breakfast buffet was good, nothing special- the usual eggs, fruit, pastries and made to order omelets and waffles. We did order from the swim up bar once or twice and the food there was excellent- burgers, fries, chicken sandwiches, etc. I would highly recommend Paradise Hot Springs to people who want to stay close to the town of LaFortuna! Sad to leave and we will miss the hot springs."

"We stayed in a junior suite, and the private jacuzzi was a definite plus. Had a minor maintenance issue early in our stay which was very quickly addressed. The staff were fantastic - after a day or two we were familiar with most of the restaurant staff, who were all excellent. Great food, with a stand out breakfast buffet. Front desk staff were also super helpful. We had a wonderful stay."
