"Breakfast was fresh with courteous staff"

"It was my second time and I’ll go back every time that I leave Costa Rica. It’s always so nice to stay there right before I head back home to the states. Airport shuttle… Awesome. My flight was super early, before breakfast so they made me a little box breakfast to take with me. The Bell boy was awesome. Brought our luggage in the room and explained everything to us. This is the best hotel and it is super reasonable. Beautifully manicured, very clean, super nice staff. Definitely recommend."

"The Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belén is the place to be if you need to stay in San José for one or two days. First of all, the building itself is stunning, and the surrounding gardens are beautifully maintained. It feels like a peaceful oasis and offers a striking contrast to the rest of San José, while still being conveniently close to the airport. The rooms are slightly noisy, but the staff more than make up for it—they are exceptionally friendly, attentive, and service-oriented. The gym is excellent. We were hoping to play pickleball, but unfortunately there was no net available. The swimming pools are a very welcome addition and add to the relaxed, resort-like atmosphere. For lunch and dinner, the restaurants La Castilla, La Isabela, and Bar 10 are all highly recommended. For breakfast, I would skip the relatively expensive buffet and instead go to Casa del Café, where you can enjoy a delicious à la carte breakfast along with excellent coffee and pastries. In terms of price, it was comparable to an airport hotel, but the experience felt much more like a mini vacation."

"Breakfasts were toast with jam, cut pineapple and watermelon. Left over fruits from previous days were stored in fridge uncovered. Milk from paper container was old. Finally, it was replaced with a new one, after I purchased fresh milk from the neighbor mini-market. Limited on-street parking. Luis was always friendly, including a live-in construction worker, Moises. Room was not cleaned once during my entire 3-night stay. My room had a NO flush toilet papers sign over the toilet paper dispenser. I was instructed to use the trash bin next to the toilet for the soiled papers. Behind it, there hid a good size cockroach.Because there was no cleaning service, I was shown how to dispose of the soiled papers in a garbage container in the downstairs garage. Thank goodness, I was given a new trash liner to DIY. Apparently, there was no pest control for my room. I found pin-head black ants near the vanity sink. They also entered through the lid of my half-full cup of orange soda, placed over the mini fridge overnight. Beware the church bells were rang 6:30 am, non stopped until you're awaken. The patio outside my room had a non-usage sign after 9 pm, but the light was turned on 5:30 am to announce a new day for me. But I had a very pleasant and different experience for my stay last year. "
