Staten Island Trip

The best thing this hotel has is the location. Staff is not the most helpful neither not helpful, they are OK.... They talk to you and tell you everything you are supposed to know at check in so quickly so they can finish with you and continue doing what they are doing... The property is a nice one but details start to make it look that needs an update. The corners of all the lobby dark wood pieces are all chipped. Easy fix paint them dark again so you can't see them. Same in the elevators that need more cleaning on the walls and definitely on the elevator's rugs: you can see the dirt in the corners of the rugs that are not the same exact size as the elevator's floors. TLC and maintenance is needed. I am surprised Expedia has this hotel as a 9.0. For this elevated kind of reviews you need more than just location. Room was nice and clean but same again all wood furniture and drawers are chipped. Easy fix get maintenance to paint this regularly. I was given a room next to a closed drainage pipe???? I don't know but my bathroom smelled funky and lots of noises from the bathroom wall. I would give it an 8.0 review

Overall nice hotel however they surprise you with a $100 resort fee, also they hold a $150 security fee on your card. I was aware of the second fee, I may have missed the first one. The breakfast was decent with a variety of items to choose from, the baked beans was unusual to me for breakfast 😂there isn’t a restaurant but a combo bar & grill. There is another hotel of the same name in the immediate area but this is the nicer one so pay attention when making your reservation. Instead of taking taxis or Uber I would suggest using TopView bus tours they are a great value for traveling around Manhattan.

Very clean room. Staff was very friendly. Room was comfortable and reasonably sized for New York. Location is right next to Times Square and that made it convenient for a lot of our activities. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was OK, but for the price level it does not hit the four or five star level. The location is the prime attraction here, very much in the center of Midtown near all the major spots. Rooms are very clean. The elevators can be slow. The hot water is good when it comes up to the proper heat level. Sometimes it took a while to get there. There is no place to plug in your electronics on one side of the bed. On the other side there is. They need more plugs, etc. No robes or slippers. No art on the walls of any kind. The coffee on the third floor is a nice amenity, but the milk used in the lattes and cappuccino may seem a bit off. The restaurant on site is very small and it’s a hit or miss proposition when it comes to quality. The staff is good, but does the bare minimum

European like rooms. No amenities. No coffee or tea in rooms. Very young crowd.
