"Early check in for £25 and £25 for the dog and breakfast @ £12 a head do not make this a cheap option. Staff very friendly and helpful. It is an old hotel."
"Only spent one night here, very comfortable room and friendly helpful staff. Shopping mall opposite and places to eat nearby, breakfast was also good "
"Excellent hotel/pub, clean modern rooms and quiet. Our room was actually nicer in real life than in the pictures. Would definitely stay again when in the area. The pub downstairs is also great "
"The place is very tired and a great deal of refurbishment is required - rotten window frames, paint in poor condition. Parking is limited. The hotel is noisy as is the area.
The room wasn't serviced in the 2 days I was there.
I wouldn't go back and would rather pay a little more elsewhere."

"This is a lovely historic hotel and we enjoyed our stay apart from one thing (but this was promptly rectified) : initially we had a front bedroom facing the road which was busy and noisy all through the night. Fortunately we were able to upgrade to a rear bedroom which was wonderfully spacious and with much better facilities. The staff were very pleasant, polite and efficient, the hotel was fascinating and well-kept, and we would certainly stay there again."
