"For this trip, I branched out of my comfort hotel company to try something new. The Pros; The staff was very welcoming and professional. The room was very clean, with crisp, white bedding and well organized with in-room coffee and ice. The marketplace was easy to maneuver and the breakfast buffet had a good selection. The cons (mainly room specific): When showering in the late afternoon/early evening, the shower temperature did not get higher than just above luke warm. I am some who likes piping hot showers. So, this was a downside for me. The silicone stripping on the shower door was slacking off in some areas and the bathroom sink wouldn’t drain overnight (after it filled to 1/3 full while I was brushing my teeth). The room itself stayed at about 75 degrees, during my entire stay, despite lowering the thermostat to 65 with the cooling fan on. The bed and pillows were a little to firm for my taste but great if you like super firm beds and thick memory foam pillows. Outside of the room, only one out of three elevators were in operation. Overall: Though I did have a wonderfully clean room, plant based smell good shower essentials, fantastic front desk/wait staff and eventually a nights sleep, I will probably stick with my usual hotel chain. "

"Room was impeccably clean and updated. Staff was excellent. Really close to the subway which made for easy transportation around town. "

"Really liked it there the room was gorgeous. Bathrooms are a little small and could have better accommodation for folks who are have troubles getting around. The staff was absolutely great and very helpful. The food was good but very typical hotel food ate there twice in the restaurant and was actually a bit disappointed that it didn’t have a bit more flare. "

"The hotel was conveniently located, and all of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The Firefly Bar was my favorite place to hang out and unwind. Justin, the bartender, was amazing. He made sure to suggest I visit the rooftop bar, where the views were spectacular. Definitely will be back on my next trip to DC. "

"My stay here was absolutely terrible. Just terrible. I left and got another hotel within 10 minutes of arriving. The room was completely disgusting. The wallpaper was peeling, there were clearly identifiable blood and excrement stains on the wall next to the toilet, the furniture was damaged and the chair was stained. The hotel is pretty run down. This was not up to my standards. I do appreciate management allowing me to check in early, that was very kind, but the room, and hotel in general was just plain bad."

"This hotel is in a great location and it is nicely appointed. As with most hotels I visit, the bathroom is indicative of the care and attention staff and ownership give and, almost without fail, there are shortcomings in the caulking either around the sink or the tub. Sometimes both. The beauty of the countertop in this bathroom does not overcome the ugliness of the caulk around the sink. It looks and feels unclean. I also fail to understand why the more expensive hotels do not provide a hot breakfast like Comfort Suites and similar hotels. Such a hotel as this Holiday Inn charges more and provides less. A room is a room and I found very little to recommend this room over many Comfort Suites I have stayed in. The biggest improvement over a Comfort Suites was an appropriate step up in security; as is needed for a downtown hotel."
