When we asked the hotel for an umbrella, we were told that none were available because many guests don’t return them. I found this response quite disappointing and somewhat dismissive. For a hotel, it would be far more appropriate to offer a solution—such as lending umbrellas with a deposit—rather than simply turning guests away. "
