On arrival the reception staff were welcoming and friendly, little bag of water and extras was a nice surprise. The room was an extremely good size and very clean. The food at the restaurant was good and the bar staff were very pleasant. The only downside was that the bar shut quite early.

Fabulous place, especially if you a wine drinker, although I believe they also have great craft beers. Our room was fabulous, nice decor. With a few extra touches such as a clothes steamer/refresher.
Champagne on arrival and a great pack of snacks in the room. Then wine or beer and more snacks at the manager's welcome.

Good location ,,really comfy bed ,nice little pool and seating area ,good communication from owner on how to get room key on phone as i was ariving later in the evening, nice little shop next door ,loved the old fashioned neon motel sign would stay again

A WONDERFUL unexpected stay in Avila: we were greeted with gifts and told about the amazing free wine from 6pm-8pm. THEN free pie! THEN fresh crossaints in the morning THEN a nacho bar. The staff was soooo friendly and made us feel like the only guests there. Will recommend Avila La Fonda to anyone doing a coastal road trip! Brilliant stay!

It's generally difficult to find a good upper mid-range hotel in the USA. 2 and 3 star, yes, but meh. Then a big gap to 5 star and massive prices. But Hotel Ynez sits just nicely, a genuinely boutique hotel with a quirky feel, bang in the middle of wine country. Only improvement I'd suggest is maybe a centre-piece bar, but not much else. Nice place.
