"Hotel definitely needs to be updated. The hotel staff were great however, the hotel was very understaffed. It got pretty boring fast because the buffet was only one available for us at the Tulum location. The beach was definitely not good at all a lot of seaweed I love to spend my time on the beach and in the water in the ocean and that was not the case with this hotel. The upgraded rooms were actually pretty rundown still air conditioning was not great when I first got there I could really see myself net picking everything and overall I’ve stayed at other places like grand Palladium, Barcelo, and riu and this place was definitely at the bottom of the list. another huge problem was restaurants were very difficult to get a reservation for supposedly you’re supposed to reserve restaurants of the 10 days before you get there but we were unaware of this so we got there almost every restaurant was booked and there’s no wiggle room to get it later. Luckily, we got the Brazilian steakhouse for the last day of our trip and that was very good. like I mentioned the staff were actually great. It was just very understaffed. Lots of wait time for drinks if you’re looking for an all-inclusive hotel I would only stay there if the financial differences were a lot lower than comparable resorts"

"Rooms are clean, WiFi worked great, smart tv, pool, beachfront was beautiful. Tony who runs the place is a great, kind, and helpful person. "

"Our week-long stay at the Bahia Principe Akumal was amazing. My only frustration was that the app can be improved with more information about where activities are taking place and brief descriptions of them. Also, the à la carte reservation process was frustrating. We shouldn't have to scramble every night furiously checking the app if a reservation happens to open up."

"Breakfast was always good. Specialty restraurants were a hit miss. Always a long wait for seats. And understaffed. When checked into our room the mini bar was stocked , but some of the bottled water had already been opened. Put up do not disturb, but staff came in anyways. Uneven walk ways, plenty of tripping hazards . If you are under 40 this resort is not for you. It was really lacking in life. If you are a family with kids it is for you."

"We didn't have access to the hot tub. If there was one on the side we were staying at we definitely would have used it. They staff was friendly and very helpful. Seems like the resort was a little under staffed. Rooms we clean and comfortable "

"Everything super clean. Kids club should make an effort to keep the kids busy and parents free, there are several rules and they call you whenever something is off with the kids, we couldn't enjoy a (well paid) spa moment because we had our phone buzzing. In general the staff is kind, but they approach their rules without context making things more complicated/frustrating than they supposed to be. The app is a disaster."
