Although not close to many amenities- we managed very well without a car for 4 nights - used the local bus at the end of the road & Uber - hotel opposite has a bar & restaurant but equally happy to make a few meals. Pool was great, enjoyed the stay. Breakfast fabulous! Walked to Manzanillo & enjoyed the quiet beach.

It’s a nice little heaven where you can unwind all your stress. It’s like a mini jungle where we were staying in a nice little two bedroom house. It’s like living in a judge with all modern facilities. Listening to Birds chirping, monkeys howling from nearby forests was becoming my morning chores. It has a nice little swimming pool open 24/7. Loved it. Host was very friendly and helpful. She even entertained my daughter with a snake(not as scary as it sounds). Walking from the Main Street...

Lovely relaxing stay. We saw sloths in the trees and poison dart frogs on the ground! The walks along the beach were beautiful. The food was very good especially the tuna steaks and it was not too expensive. Excellent cocktails!

We loved the quirkiness of this location, as well as the proximity to the beach. Andrea was so so lovely and helpful and made some excellent recommendations for how to spend our time, as well as putting us in touch with an excellent guide for a day out. We loved the personal touches and that everything was local and/or homemade

I had a good experience at Namu. The hotel looks new and very well maintained. The service is great all over and they do make you feel special. It is probably one of the nicest hotels in Puerto Viejo. Areas to improve: the pool needs more loungers as they get filled up very quickly; also some of the top floor master rooms are noisy, can hear everything the neighbours are doing and they need some work to seal the noise.

A great hotel just south of Puerto Viejo. Very good pool (with 2 large hot tubs). Direct accesss onto beautiful Caribbean beach. The restaurant was good although seemed quite quiet and therefore lacking some atmosphere- The only problem was that I had booked a ‘family bungalow’ by the pool thinking this would be great for a family of 4 with 2 teenage children, but these bungalows have 2 bedrooms with a single queen bed in each, and no flexibility to put in two single beds. This hotel is wonderful! Opposite Cocles beach, with its own beach club, it has a wonderful tranquil pool where you can just chill out. ALL the staff are wonderful, and can't do enough for their guests. The food is great - breakfast around the carp pool is spectacular. Our rooms were cleaned every day by the wonderful friendly staff and with the unique twist of the room colours being changed every day. I really recommend this hotel if you are planning a stay in Puerto Viejo.

Stunning, beach, rooms, breakfast all fabulous - stayed 3 nights, could have easily stayed longer.

My wife and I spent the first part of our honeymoon at El Encanto and simply stated, it was paradise. The grounds and room were breathtaking. There are two lovely pools and loads of wildlife could be seen throughout the grounds on any given day (or night). There was no fridge in the room, but we were able to access the fridges in reception at any time and filtered water is also available there 24 hours per day, along with coffee and tea. I stayed at the property early February, arriving earlier than check-in but the staff were very friendly and helpful letting me leave my bags and belongings in their managers office until my room was ready. The staff were also very knowledgeable of their local areas advising one what to do during the days and which beaches to visit. Lovely room with a bathroom to match. The outside seating area was great to hang out, read a book and have a coffee. The owners were very welcoming and showed us great hospitality. Its an easy walk into Cahuita, we were lucky enough to see plenty of wildlife on our walk. Very much recommend this place to stay if you decide to visit Cahuita.

A little bit of paradise conveniently close to the national park. The owner and her son were wonderful. Very welcoming and a great hosts. Excellent home cooked food and no need to go elsewhere. We felt very much at home
