Wow!! I don’t know if I have words to fully describe our stay. The location was in walking distance of the beach and the town area was a short drive away. Our hosts Sebastian and Javier were friendly and accommodating! Breakfast was served each morning with delicious coffee and our rooms were spotless each day due to a thorough cleaning by the staff. Our cottage was spacious and quiet. We enjoyed our stay so much we are already planning our return, hopefully next year. Thank you Javier and Sebastian for making our vacation one we’ll never forget.

Excellent place for the final stop of our honeymoon. Ideal 200m walk to the beach and 15 minutes drive from Puerto Viejo. Breakfast each morning was authentic and the surroundings were impressive with toucans each morning at breakfast.

Tranquil

Although not close to many amenities- we managed very well without a car for 4 nights - used the local bus at the end of the road & Uber - hotel opposite has a bar & restaurant but equally happy to make a few meals. Pool was great, enjoyed the stay. Breakfast fabulous! Walked to Manzanillo & enjoyed the quiet beach.

KAÑIK is magical! Sebastian, Javier and crew made our experience beyond amazing. The service they provided felt like having a personal concierge. Want a dinner restaurant recommendation? They’ve got you! Not sure of the best transportation options? No problem! Want a Spanish conversation partner? You got it! The hotel itself is very intimate with only 7 casitas and surrounded by the most thoughtful landscaping to provide privacy on each house’s patio. The electrical is a bit funky. Mind you, electricity only became available to that region in the ‘80’s, so it makes sense that there might be capacity/load issues. It was typical for that entire region. Despite that, the accommodations are fabulous. And the beach. No words for that! Approximately 150 meters to walk there.

We stayed 3 nights in Kanik and it was great. The host Sebastian is just great. He is so friendly and makes sure you feel at home. The location is 20 min by car from Puerto Viejo so you are not far from the town with bars/restaurants etc but far enough to avoid the mass of people. Great beach accessible a few meters from the hotel. It was just perfect! I strongly recommend this place!

Wir haben drei Nächte im KAÑIK APART HOTEL verbracht und hatten eine richtig schöne Zeit dort. Die Kommunikation war super unkompliziert und total herzlich. Da es nur wenige Apartments gibt, ist alles sehr persönlich – man fühlt sich direkt wohl und kann richtig abschalten. Unser Bungalow war wunderschön eingerichtet und lag mitten in der Natur. Mein absolutes Highlight war definitiv die Badewanne! Auch das Frühstück, das man sich jeden Abend aussuchen konnte, war richtig lecker und abwechslungsreich. Man merkt einfach, wie viel Herzblut und Mühe die beiden Gastgeber in dieses Projekt stecken – sei es beim Frühstück, in der liebevollen Einrichtung oder in der netten Kommunikation mit den Gästen. Wenn ich überhaupt etwas anmerken müsste, dann vielleicht, dass die Unterkunft etwas abseits liegt. Ohne Auto ist man daher nicht ganz so flexibel – mit Auto aber gar kein Problem. Der Strand in der Nähe ist traumhaft schön und überhaupt nicht überlaufen. Ich kann das KAÑIK APART HOTEL wirklich nur empfehlen und würde jederzeit wiederkommen!

Komfortabele Unterkunft mit Dschungelfeeling

Das Hotel bietet ein einmaliges Erlebnis inmitten des Dschungels. Sebastian war äußerst freundlich und stets hilfsbereit, was den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm gemacht hat. Die Unterkunft selbst ist sehr schön gestaltet, und die Nähe zur Natur ist beeindruckend – täglich konnte man die Brüllaffen hören und mit etwas Glück auch beobachten. Besonders faszinierend war es, die grünen Aras direkt von der Unterkunft aus zu sehen. Das Frühstück war abwechslungsreich und reichhaltig, mit vier Optionen zur Auswahl. Der Strand in der Nähe war wunderschön und nahezu unberührt, sodass man ihn oft fast für sich allein hatte. Die Apartments sind gut ausgestattet mit Kaffeemaschine, Mikrowelle, Kühlschrank und einer kleinen Küchenzeile – alles, was man für einen komfortablen Aufenthalt benötigt. Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen war das wechselhafte Wasser und der laute Regen auf dem Blechdach, aber das gehört wohl zum Dschungel-Feeling dazu. Für uns war es der perfekte Einstieg in Costa Rica – absolut empfehlenswert!

Ideaal hotel voor koppels.

Prachtige accomodatie om als koppel te vertoeven. Midden in het groen en vol natuurgeluiden. Heel dicht bij het strand en ook daar zijn voorzieningen van het hotel. Persoonlijk 1 van de mooiste stranden die er zijn in de regio. Ook omdat het zo rustig is daar.
