The water pressure was very very low- but then it was fixed by hotel- no hot water at all -- and no light by sink- lots and lots of noise--- even had an employee wake me up while i was asleep- knocking on door- will never ever book with expedia again

We do not understand your inconvenience, as we use everything to make your stay a pleasant one. If you knocked on the door, it was because the doctor came to see you as you asked, we did not let people from outside the hotel, unless a request from the guest, that's why they knocked on the door, to notify you that you had already arrived . OK for a couple of nights
I stayed multiple days and almost never was the room serviced. Breakfast is extremely minimal. The place was being remodelled and there was a lot of noise during the day. The room was clean and the AC worked really well. The location is far from the beach but still walkable. Good shower. WiFi was OK.

The place is good, it is an small hotel with everything you need. Great staff and service. My only complaint was the bed, I believe it is a basic need and they fail so bad, it was clean and comfortable but the sheets were too old that you can see any kind of mark on it. I’m not a picky person but they need to change their sheets! Another thing, they’re renovating, ask if they finish before booking with them. Rest was good, very good price and I insist their staff is amazing!

I am not sure if Casa Tortuga is the same as Casa Alejandra as the outside sign reads “Casa Fifi” If this is the same property, the neighborhood is eery and felt not friendly. The guy at the front desk is nice and helpful.

Make sure to attain a charger from their country. Hard to charge devices, had to use the usb portal from a TV in the room. THE STAFF WAS SWEET! Do not be intimated to speak and ask them to repeat themselves. I paid for a balcony with beach view. There was NO beach view. I was literally looking out into the street. Also there didnt ask for a deposit or any other fees! THATS A PLUS. Many hotels charge extra fees! Thank you guys for having us

It is very quiet and clean with Mexican charm. Building is new. Breakfast was basic but that what I needed. Staff are friendly. Room was clean. It is close to 5th ave but the other end! So if you don’t mind that then it’s great place to stay. Ali from Iran

Location and price were great. Staff was very friendly, professional, and the rooms and property were spotlessly clean. However, hot water runs out very quickly (2 minutes) and there was a slight sewer smell from the shower. No safe box in the room.

The room had a full kitchen with utensils you can cook food in right down the street three blocks was a huge Supermarket Aki where you can buy anything super cheap including alcohol the hotel is a 6 out of 10 because of the staff they were very racist and not very friendly otherwise it's a good short-term 2 weeks or less stay place. C+ Rating

The property was fine. The room was very spacious and clean. I really appreciated Laura at the front desk. She was very pleasant, helpful and fully bilingual. What a sweetheart. I would stay there again.

Good Cheap Crash Pad for Short stay!
Good Cheap stay with Kitchen so you can Cook Cheap Great Food within 3 blocks you can get anything you need : ) Beach is 7 Block walk -- 10 mins Pool is small but Clean Will stay again short term only!

This place is a hidden gem for active budget travelers. There’s a clean pool perfect for relaxing. The setup of the Villa is wonderful, and it has very cute art all around. Next door they’re renovating/building something big. It was noisy in the morning, but it’s easy to sleep through. Plus this shows signs of growth in Playa del Carmen & that’s great. The staff were incredibly wonderful & helped me during a very frustrating situation with such kindness. The one downside is that the Villa is away from the main actions, but if you’re active or don’t mind walking long distances (or taking a taxi) it’s not an issue. Overall I would probably stay there again if I was on a tight budget. It’s safe, clean & cute.

Good value hotel
This is a small hotel just off of Quinta avenida. If you like authentic mexican food at a reasonable price and to be around some real mexican people this is the place to be. I was on a small budget and the staff were very helpful and spoke good english. You do not want to be out drinking beer here though because you will have 50 friends very quickly and the beer is cheap and the people are friendly--HAHA The tacos are fantastic late at night and most of the taxis will take you where you want to go at a fair price!! Great people and very flexible.
The first time I arrived, it was 9 a.m. on a Sunday - they set me up with a room immediately to my surprise. Stayed 10 days and had a great time in Playa del Carmen. Second time I stayed I need a late checkout seeing I had a 3:50 a.m. flight from Cancun; they volunteered my stay until 5 p.m. - so generous, whereas when I stayed in Corozal I was charged 10$ Belize an hour (Mirador Hotel). In addition a short walk to the beach, awesome restaurant a block away (Mr. Marios) - wonderful man and food out of this world. This visit, the room was prepared when I arrived and the staff couldn't be any nicer.

nice quiet location,small good hotel,
everything went good, got to check in about an hour early, room was clean, pool was clean, enjoyed talking with the staff, the girls were friendly and hopeful. Its not a 5 star, but its good enough, if you like to be out all day and do things. I didn't have a bad experience with this place, but I'm not overly picky when it comes to the cost. I would stay here again.

The hotel is located on a quiet street, away from the craziness of La Quinta. Just a short walk to the beach and lots of great restaurants. It really is the ideal location. Plus, the room came with a mini-fridge, microwave, mugs & glasses, so it was possible to have a quite breakfast in the room, or a drink at night.

Nice and cheap place for a backpack traveler. Dont need a luxury room only to sleep because I am never i the place. Bed is ok. Its worth it.

Perfect for the price. Little far from La Quinta but it is worth it. Close to beach. Not noisy like the rest of the strip.

Convinient and budget place to stay, manager a bit
I did't know I neede to arrive before Midnight, my flight was really delayed, and after waiting 40 min. the manager/owner open the door and he was a bit angry. After explaining he was more kind and showed me the room and everything. He told me the room wasn't paid and I told him it was, so we both agree to pay in cash until the next day so that he could look into it. Before leaving, I called hotels.com and they confirmed the payment, as the wner wasn't answering the calls of a hotel.com representative, I went and look for him. He got very angry and told me he was going to solve the problem himself (that was 1 hr prior 12:00 am, wenn I neede to make the check out). He was not very kind to be honest. After that he clamed down andand kind. The premises are kind of "what you paid for", or price relation are even very cheap. I recommend them if you just plan to sleep and are on a budget. I will only say that the owner should learn how to deal with their costumer way better thatn he dif with me. And hotels.com should review the policie, I didn't know was a curfew or anything.

Muy agradable
Me gustó mucho, la recepción muy amable, el lugar es tranquilo y seguro, acogedor, sólo recomiendo al hotel poner un poco de atención en detalles pequeños como que la mesita personal se encuentre estable (que no se mueva, ya que se me cayeron varias bebidas) por lo demás, muy limpios, el cable funcionó súper bien, la alberca limpia, está muy bien con respecto al precio
