We loved our stay at the Castle Inn. The rooms are comfortable and cozily decorated. The grounds are beautiful. The staff are lovely and accommodating. Plus pet friendly! Our dogs were quite comfortable during our stay. We will stay again next time we are in the area.

We were upgraded into a suite that was lovely. The grounds are beautiful. This was a nice place to stay even though it is a little out of the way, but that's what makes it quiet.

Very cute Hansel & Gretel style accommodations. Staff were lovely. Disappointed the restaurant wasn't open especially after a long drive but did get a recommendation to the Oak Tree Restaurant-I think the only restaurant in town. Rooms were dated and the bathroom needed more counter space for toiletries but everything was clean.

Simply comfortable and beautiful
Cosy area with a beautiful classic decoration. Gorgeous view of woods amd the river. Kind and friendly staffs. In general i had a good, comfy night in this hotel. They were in the middle of renovation but still everything was going well. I have two little kids and they realy enjoyed the night they spend there. There is a jacuzzi inside a room in a big bathroom.

Liked the historical features, the solarium and 2 person tub in room. The restaurant was not open and the coffee selection in room was sparse but manager did fix us up with some grinds and filters.

This is a cute Inn in a small sleepy town. Karen runs the entire place and is friendly and helpful. The pool was having some issues so I am unable to comment about amenities. The jet tub in the room was lovely! The only issue was that online sites claim this is a bed and breakfast. It is not, the restaurant is not open. When I asked, Karen said she did report this to the online sites. So it is an issue with these websites not updating, not her as she did her due diligence. Rooms are clean and if you need the kitchen, Karen welcomes you to use it.

Property is beautiful, rooms are clean, Inn keeper went out of her way to make room welcoming. Lamps on, TV on, Air Condition on. Inn keeper is friendly and welcoming. Only downfall is check in between 3-8 pm. I felt I needed to rush my drive to be there on time. The Inn keeper did give a courtesy call in the morning to find out my ETA which was appreciated.

On the plus side, it's a beautiful building, very clean and well maintained, and the room was absolutely beautiful. On the negative side: - There are no food options, not even a vending machine - There is absolutely no hospitality, don't expect any. Once check-in is completed (around 7:00), there are no staff members to be found, and there there is no way to contact anyone (no phone in the room). There was nobody to answer any questions - we had a couple. We checked out at 9:30 the next morning and there was still no staff member to be found. - At check-in we were required to pay in advance, and on the invoice a tip is strongly suggested (as a percentage of the total bill, similar to a restaurant). This is the first time in my life that I was obliged to tip before service was provided (and in the end, none was). In summary, with tax, tip, and a $40 pet fee, we ended up paying almost $400 for a single night's accommodation. For that price I expect at least a minimum level of service. There was none whatsoever.

This is a delightful and unusual hotel with an excellent pool/sauna/hot tub/steam room/exercise area. The grounds are beautiful, and furnishings are elegantly old-fashioned. Proprietor was very pleasant and helpful.

we stayed in a newly renovated part of the Castle, so the room, bathroom, bed were all superior standard. The Manager, Karen, was very welcoming and accommodating. The only thing which would make this a five star destination would be for them to have a restaurant (again) on site. Otherwise in the small village, decent restaurants are hard to find. Otherwise, the room was clean, quiet, the bed very comfortable and we had no complaints!

Property still suffers from effects of COVID. Kitchen was still closed - no dinner or breakfast. Choice of local restaurants was limited because some were closed on Monday. Older establishment with character but you hear the neighbouring room and every step on the floor above. Bed was on the soft side, not a form mattress. The manager was very friendly and helpful

I think, like many many hotels around the world, the pandemic has affected the quantity of staff available and thus the quality of the property care. Though clean and friendly, the 'at home restaurant' mentioned in the add was NOT up and running, and there was no complimentary brekky. For this price range I would hope for at least a crusty bagel or piece of toast in the morning ;)

The Castle Inn is a very unique property that is exceptionally well kept and well managed. The grounds are immaculate, the pool and gym great, and the patio areas are lovely. And the Great Trail is only 5 min walking away for cycling or walking. However, the surrounding town has limited options for food and the Inn does not have a restaurant nor anything to assist in dealing with meals on your own. Some of the restaurants are only open Thursday thru Sunday. There is a full service grocery store 5 min away by car.and a Tims as well. The property manager is very knowledgeable about services in the area and certainly very obliging. Perhaps some things can be available for guests to deal with meals..for example microwave, cutlery, plates,fridge to keep things cold. The area is certainly beautiful and staying here was lovely with the lovely weather.

Not what we expected. The advertising I had read included an on-site restaurant and conveyed the feeling of a nice old mansion. I’m largely pregnant and we paid to have one of the more expensive rooms with a jetted tub. Unfortunately the power went out for a few hours in the evening/night, and there must not be a generator so we went about our room by flashlight and did not get to use the tub jets. When we arrived around 4:30 in the afternoon in a snowstorm, the main door was locked. My husband went around looking for any other way to get in. I called and left a message that we were there and a light came on. We went back to the door and were welcomed in. It presented as a huge old house that was rather charming, but like it was mostly closed, and the restaurant was closed (for a couple years now). Almost nobody else there. The lady who checked us in was pleasant enough. All in all, it felt like we were in a place that was essentially closed. I wish that the advertisements for this place told the condition it is in at the moment, not the glory it once was or could be. And especially with the power outage, we feel like it was a huge overkill on the expense. We could have had about the same had we stayed at a cabin for $100. Also, I believe it was advertised to have a DVD player in the room but we could not find any, so could not play the dvd we had brought. But we made the best of it. I would not go again unless it was actually up and running and functioning.

The manager Karen was very accommodating. The room was immaculate and she had a nice fire on in the lobby when we got back from our evening out. The hotel has such character and originality. We love the overall experience when visiting there and it won’t be our last one.

Room was lovely. The Inn is beautiful. No warning that amenities were not available. No dining at all. Pool and bar closed. Advertised free breakfast not available. Only guests there had to request fresh towels glasses etc. No one to freshen bed etc. Stayed the week no offer of a discount. Not what we expected for the price. Totally disappointed.

A hidden gem of a hotel and village! Unfortunately, we weren't there long enough to enjoy the pool and grounds but did have a taste of the friendly people in the town and tasty treats at the Dairy Bar restaurant.
