This was our sixth stay at the Bussola as Orta is somewhere we visit regularly. For the first time in a few visits we ate here too. We had forgotten how good the food is and having dinner and on the terrace overlooking the lake is the perfect location to enjoy it. Very nice, friendly hotel overall in a great location for those arriving by train. It is a 15-20 minute walk to Orta San Giulio but if you are reasonably able bodied it's not really a problem, we went there and back 4 times in two days and were fine! The room was modern and clean with a balcony and a nice view of the little terrace. Apartment was huge but felt the space could have been configured a bit better e.g. with a kitchenette or more comfy living area. View was amazing (just be aware that the picture shown is when the trees were very young/ had no leaves and they now cover the lake view). Breakfast was nice. Cleaning was good but would have liked the bed linen to be changed - we stayed for 5 nights and it was not changed.
