We chose the hotel on the basis of location (easy walk from station, on a pedestrianised street), a listing in the Rough Guide and excellent online reviews. Excellent apartotel. Our studio was immaculately clean quite high end and well equipped. Kitchen had everything dishwasher washing machine microwave kettle iron ironing board. The location is good quiet but walking distance to main railway station and old town. Recommended.

The hotel is located in the quieter area of Nuremberg, away from the bustle of the market and in an area with some very pretty streets. The air conditioning was awesome - kept us going during a very hot spell in Germany. A very sleekly designed bedroom with funky light-up headboard too. I was first attracted to Hotel Elch for its history, but I got so much more than that. The building feels home-y and warm but elegant; though the building is old, the decor and facilities are modern; and the staff is ever so friendly and accommodating. I loved my stay here, and if I ever return to Nürnberg, I will stay here again.

Excellent location about three minutes walk from Metro station and fifteen minutes from main square and main train station. Lovely clean and very spacious rooms. Breakfast in hotel experience but excellent cafe only a few minutes away.

Felt like home despite the fact that we only spoke limited German. It's in a good location which makes evening walks interesting with beautiful views. It's also close to the imperial castle and the beautiful mayor's gardens. The staff were very helpful and customer service quite excellent. The only downside was the pool with no shallow end. The children have to be excellent swimmers to swim in the pool and no lifeguard for such depth.

This hotel was excellent for the price and the location was brilliant - close walking (4mins) to bus/trains stations. Steps from the font door of the hotel you can immerse yourself in the Old town of Nuernberg and all the shops markets etc therefore an excellent location for everything you need. The hotel breakfast was exceptional - one of the best i have had in any hotel. The room was spotless and the staff very friendly. What a lovely, small and friendly hotel in an excellent residential area near the city walls of Nuremberg. Very helpful owner, lovely staff, a cute little back garden and a really lovely breakfast area with conservatory. Will definitely stay again.

Nice hotel with lovely helpful staff. In a good position within easy walking distance of main square. The work that is being undertaken can be disruptive, banging can be heard early morning and we were on the second floor. Once the work has been done it will be absolutely fine.
