North Truro is part of the town of Truro, named after Truro in Cornwall, United Kingdom, another place famed for its beaches. Before the arrival of Europeans, the Native American population called the region Pamet.

Legend says that Jenny Lind, a Swedish opera diva, sang from the tower in Boston in the mid-19th century. One audience member was so enchanted by her singing that he had the tower dismantled and rebuilt here.
Provincetown Municipal Airport is less than 20 minutes by car from North Truro. Boston Logan International Airport, the closest international airport, is about a 2-hour drive from North Truro. Use the shuttle bus service between North Truro and Provincetown during the summer.
