Awesome location, cute patio, lots of character!
The property spans across three stories:
* first floor with a living room and a kitchen with sofa bed
* second floor with a king bed and a small firm futon
* third floor with another king bed.
This was a great place ro atay. Not just a cookie cutter hotel. Pleanty to do within walking distance. Some great antique shops and really good coffee spota really close.
Our Stay Was Phenomenal The Entire Setup Was Amazing We Felt Very Safe Felt At Home The Host Was More Than Helpful And Very Thoughtful I would Love To Own This Home One Day In The Future
We really enjoyed our stay. The home is perfectly curated to make you feel as if you are walking back in time.
The home had all the amenities needed including breakfast supplies w/ coffee & tea. The location is perfect within walking distance to the French quarter and very close to the jazz scene. Our favorite part was relaxing on the balcony taking in the view.
Definitely recommend this place to stay if you want the authentic NOLA experience!
Perfect location on a quiet street in the French Quarter. For our family of five, we stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. We could’ve used a second bathroom. Just FYI- there is no one on-site but it was easy to get in and out. Can easily communicate via text messaging as needed. The bathroom was a little weird as the room with shower and toilet could not be locked and was cold. Heat is via window unit. They provided yogurts, juice, oatmeal and cookies, coffee for breakfast.
We stayed in the Lanaux 2-bedroom suite, which was very spacious and beautifully decorated. Each bedroom featured a king bed and a daybed, making it perfect for families or small groups.
We loved the layout which included a work desk, cozy sitting areas with small tables, and a bathroom that could be accessed from both the hallway and one of the bedrooms -- very convenient. The kitchenette had everything we needed and our continental breakfast was a perfect way to start our day.
One of the highlights was the view: our suite overlooked a gorgeous courtyard that added to the charm and tranquility of the stay.
Access to the property was easy, and communication with the host was prompt, warm, and personal -- a rare and much-appreciated experience.
And the location? Absolutely unbeatable. Just steps from both the French Quarter and lively Frenchmen Street, we were right in the heart of everything while still enjoying a peaceful retreat.
We can't recommend this property enough. It's a true New Orleans treasure and one we'll never forget.
We had a wonderful experience at Sophie’s Enchanted Cottage! Just as described, the space was private, and comfortable—perfect for a relaxing getaway. We especially loved the private courtyard and entrance, and was easy to check in.
The suite itself is spacious and spotless upon arrival. The tasteful decor added a cozy, welcoming charm. The kitchenette was a great bonus, well-stocked with continental breakfast options.
The bed was very comfortable, and every detail throughout the room was inviting. Self-check-in was seamless, and communication with the host was prompt and easy.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return with our family.
What an terrific place - a great find. Totally authentic New Orleans experience.
We LOVED being so close to everything. You're basically right off the street that separates the French Quarter from Frenchmen Street --- you can actually hear the music from the courtyard at night --- But once you're inside the gates, it's nice and quiet.
You can walk everywhere.
There's a large brick courtyard here, a little fountain, an outdoor dining table, and a grill. Great place to hang out in the evenings.
You can tell the house has history. It's connected to the mansion next door, but it's its own separate little house and property. Unique layout, it has the kitchen and living room on the bottom floor and the main bedrooms are upstairs, up a wooden and iron spiral staircase. Pretty cool! They each have a balcony and their own bathrooms, too, plus a little sitting area with natural light coming in off the garden.
The kitchen has everything you need. Stove, pots/pans, big fridge for leftovers and groceries. Coffee makers, too.
We are for sure coming back here with more friends sometime soon -- maybe for one of the big festivals.
I feel like I shouldn't be giving away our little secret, but here goes -- Highly Recommend 10/10.

The location is excellent, and the property would be an interesting stay for old-home-lovers, but ultimately I think the price is a bit too high for just an average guest experience.
We had Ruthie’s Balcony. It’s a very cool, vintage room with a super comfortable bed, but there are some areas that just need some upkeep, like peeling and bubbling paint on the bathroom tiles, missing smoke detectors, non-gfci outlets, half used random brand bottles of shampoo and body wash. You expect a little bit of this with a vintage property, but not to this extent for the price.
The breakfast was DIY quaker oatmeal and some breakfast bars, and there was coffee, tea, and juice stocked for each day we stayed. It’s just slightly better than no breakfast at all.
Service was solid. It’s self-check-in and out, and communication leading up to and during the stay was good. There was no housekeeping during our stay. Unsure if this is offered upon request since we didn’t look or ask. It’s not a knock, just an FYI if that’s something you care about.
Things that aren’t necessary but would’ve made this stay feel more worth it: some simple personalization like a welcome note or local treat; better breakfast offerings like simple fresh pastries or breads from local shops; higher-quality bathroom toiletries; pre-made coffee each morning for all guests; and slightly better maintained rooms (they were very clean, just need better upkeep).
We had the BEST experience staying here. We are already planning a return trip for our wedding anniversary in the fall. This place is magical. The history, the location, the architecture, the southern charm, huge kudos to the gardener- what beautiful flowers and plants- comfortable beds, the privacy and security, we absolutely loved our stay!
