"I remember the bed being super plush and comfortable. Easy location and no issues. Did not stay the night as we needed to get to the airport but the room was nice and would stay there again."
"The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. They prepared us a packed breakfast when we had an early start around 5 am. The hotel is located in a busy but convenient area with many food choices. The pickup from the airport went without a hassle. We had a good stay."
"Great stay, I enjoyed the hospitality extended to me by the reception staff, security and housekeeper (Meana). I booked excursions through Dahy, who was helpful with navigating through my options. "
"I stayed several times at this marvelous place. Just to point out the breakfast bouffett, the service at the reception desk and the room service, which is cleaning every day is splendid and a real pasis for travellers."
"Great stay at Philo - very reasonable cost, extremely helpful staff (Mr. Filip, the owner, made sure to accommodate additional requests and arranged for tours in Cairo and Alexandria). Excellent and convenient location, 10 min walk from Tahrir Square and Egyptian Museum."

Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile
10/10 Excellent
"The GM and all the staff are very kind and professional "
"Absolutely amazing hotel! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. I want to give a special shout-out to Mohamad at the reception bar — I had an issue with my suitcase not opening, and as soon as I mentioned it, he immediately asked me to bring it over. He managed to open it right away and even offered me a lock from his own pocket. Such kindness and helpfulness are truly rare!
The hotel is extremely safe, spotlessly clean, and the food is delicious. Don’t miss the breakfast — it’s one of the best I’ve ever had!
Highly recommended in every way. I would definitely come back!"
"The hotel is lovely. But the surrounding area and the rest of the building is dirty and feels unsafe due to the men milling about and smoking at all hours. The area is filthy. But that's Cairo, so what can you do-it's not the hotel's fault. The hotel is top notch, and anywhere else would be 5-star. "
"I was very surprised on how modern and clean the room was. The breakfast was also very pleasing and had a variety of options. Even the staff were smiling the whole time and were super nice. If I came to Cairo again, Novotel would be my go to."
