Honestly, even with some construction and a few dated rooms, I’d still more than recommend this place! It’s such an iconic spot that’s totally worth the booking. 🏨
The new pool area is just wonderful—they put twinkle lights in one of the pools at night and it looks so, so cool. Plus, walking through that jaw-dropping lobby feels like you're on a movie set! It’s a one-of-a-kind space that the local community actually uses for big business gatherings, which gives it such a grand vibe. 🎬
You also can’t beat being right next to the beach—the location is super convenient. Even if there are more modern Hyatt hotels out there, this one just has that special, classic feel you can't replicate. 🌊

Great staff and very friendly service, good to see ongoing renovations to return the hotel to its former glory.
When in Muscat, I always stay at Grand Hyatt. The food, the view, and most of all the staff create a warm and welcoming environment. Parth is the waiter in the lounge and is so kind, helpful, and provides excellent service. Abdullah was at breakfast and remembered our coffee choices daily. Beautiful country and beautiful people.

Authentic Arabian design and furnishing, lively bright rooms however as under construction limited access to beach and pool
The hotel is beautiful and the word 'grand' sums it up. The newly refurbished swimming pool is excellent and the beach is lovely with a nice warm sea. We emailed the hotel before our stay to ask regarding gluten free options for breakfast. It was pleasing that April (assistant manager) remembered the email exchange and was looking out for us.
We arrived after a late night flight. The staff was very friendly professional and accommodating with our late arrival request. The hotel itself was in a quiet area, pool access and beach access with a walkable trail. The room was clean and cleaning staff always provided good service and requests.
The breakfast menu was great with healthy options. Shabnam was very accommodating with our breakfast request every day during our 6 night stay. Thank you for the help and being kind and professional. Overall our stay was amazing due to the staff and property.
Beautiful room. Spacious and luxurious.
Only comment is that there was no power point where the coffee/tea making facilities were to plug the kettle in. Had to use the one near the desk.
Also would be helpful to have extra power points near the bed. Given most charging cables are now USB ports, I'm surprised given the recent refurbishment of the hotel that these weren't added.
A short stay in Muscat. A short walk to the beach and easy access to all that Muscat & Oman offer from the old city, port, souk, museum’s, Mosques as well as the Wadis etc
Delightful helpful friendly staff
What a grand hotel! Amazing place . They are doing extensive renovations and no access to the beach front at all. This place must look amazing when pool is opened. Hope they keep the same elegant feel to it.
My family and I recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt Muscat and it was a great experience! It was our first family trip after having our baby and the staff was AMAZING! Everyone was so kind and accommodating. The hotel is very charming and welcoming. You can tell that it is a bit older but not in a negative way. All facilities were clean and easy to use. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family!
Some may complain that the property is dated but I love the vintage vibe. B'fast is nice and plentiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I find the toiletries rather low quality for 5* hotel and still in little containers. Thanks for having us.
This hotel was recommended to us by someone who has visited numerous times and really enjoyed their stays, so we booked here specially. It was an absolutely beautiful property, very conveniently located, had friendly staff (especially Mahmoud), was clean, accommodating, and safe/peaceful. We cannot wait to come again and would definitely recommend this hotel to others. We also really appreciated the traditional art work, antique doors/windows, and vibrant cultural influences all around the building. Staying here made our stay in Muscat that much more enjoyable. Thank you to all there.
The hotel is located at a beach front. Easy acces to beach and 5 minutes walk to a small mall called Water Front. Grand Hyatt staff is professional and polite at all times. Rooms are clean and well maintained but the mattress and pillows are too soft. Need to change that. Other than that it was a fantastic family holiday!

Old hotel but amazing staff
The hotel was quite old and could definitely need an upgrade, however the room was spacey, tidy and nice.
But we were missing furnitures at the balcony, which would have been lovely to enjoy the warm evenings.
The staff was very nice. Especially Mohammed and Saleema by the pool/gym. Most serviceminded and smiling people.
The prices at the hotel are extreemly high compared to when you eat or drink outside. Thank God there is a delicious Turkish restaurant right next to the hotel, where prices are 1/3 of the prices from the hotel.
