I’m not sure why this is only conserved a 2-Star Hotel. The room was very nice, vaulted ceilings, updated bathroom, very cute decor - and a fireplace! I loved the atmosphere. It was also very clean. Front desk personnel were very nice. I’d definitely stay here again!

Merritt House was a lovely, charming place to stay with my family of four. The room was gorgeously decorated with a door to an outdoor space. the bathroom was spacious with new tiles and hardware. There was a small refrigerator in the room and bathrobes. The breakfast that was included with our stay was like a bed and breakfast feel. The area is walkable to an entire downtown area with shops and restaurants, close to Fisherman's Wharf.

We enjoyed our stay-cation here over New Years. We live in the area but have always wanted to stay at Merrit House. It is adorable on the outside and our room was as well. There was a wood burning fireplace in the room and we were offered wood if we were interested in using it. The bathroom had a modern updated look while the room itself held the charming look of older days. We were on the first floor with a walkout patio to the cute courtyard. The only thing we would have wanted different is that while there were blinds on the two patio doors they didn’t quite give full privacy because they didn’t go past the frame of the window (definitely had to change in the bathroom area). They only had sheer curtains besides that. We would have like a regular curtain for light blockage and a feeling of true privacy. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and we would stay there again. It is also right there a block over from the convention center and super easy to walk around downtown.
