This hotel is stunning! Everything about the house and the grounds is wonderful, and we received the most excellent customer service while visiting. The breakfast provided was incredible (the best scones on the planet!), the room adorable, and the whole atmosphere very cozy and homey. It’s very close to everything we wanted to do while still giving us a quiet retreat. We would definitely stay here again during our next visit to the area!

Mediocre, At Best While the location was fine we were disappointed in this B&B. Why? Considering the expense, it was more of a boarding house. The room was unexpectedly cramped and lacked decent ventilation, the bed and chairs were old and saggy, the “breakfast” consisted of a little fresh cut fruit (~1/4 cup), a dollop of yogurt, a “scone” that was really just a cookie and no fruit juice or other usual breakfast items. The small TV had only the most basic local channels. Overall, a mediocre experience; not recommended.

This inn was a wonderful holiday experience. My partner and I booked a queen bed that ended up being under construction. Instead of canceling our booking, they upgraded us to a cottage, which I will book if I ever go back to Monterey. It includes a futon where two more people could sleep. The TVs had no Netflix but there were nice homey movies on cable (Addams family and princess bride). The decorations and historical building is something you can’t miss out on and the friendliness of staff ties it all together. The inn is located very near brunch, a museum, shops, and a nice book store. Very walkable to the beach. Only thing - wish the breakfast was more than yogurt and scones, had to go get eggs somewhere to feel full. Even that was scrumptious though:)

This is a beautiful, historic property that is close to everything! The homemade scones for breakfast were so good, and the customer service was wonderful. Definitely a place I will return to!

We loved the authentic style and easy access to Monterey, Carmel by the Sea and local eateries. From the pre arrival interaction to the genuine welcome and fresh scones the staff were exceptional.

Staying there was like stepping back in time- perhaps visiting your grandparents home. It’s cozy and comforting We stayed in the suite/cottage and only comment was the doors were drafty- again most original doors etc The bed was comfortable Breakfast of homemade scones and granola and fruit yogurt parfait was delicious! Great location for Lovers Point too
