Monadnock Region Trip

The property is objectively beautiful. Well designed and tidy. Our room was large and comfortable. Unfortunately our room had issues with hot water - couldn’t take a shower for longer than 8 mins or so without it going cold. Happened three different times at three different times of the day. Housekeeping also entirely skipped our room one day which was a bit of a disappointment after coming back from a long day of walking and looking forward to crawling into a comfy, clean bed. Hotel staff were kind and greeted you, but sometimes appeared overwhelmed by the front door/valet service. High end lotions and towels. But not sure we would stay here again. Location is convenient to get over to Cambridge but not actually along any subway lines so getting into downtown was a much bigger treck than we anticipated. Ubers are approximately 30$ each way to get into downtown.

For the money, can non go wrong with this choice

I really liked my stay here. Its a different kind of hotel. Very boutique. My room was clean and comfortable. There is no closet but they have a wall unit which has a large drawer, hanging space, attached to a desk and a bench. I had a deluxe king room which isn't really that big. I say this because the bench part of the unit is right at the corner. I kept subbing my foot on it and tripped one night because I was half a sleep. It's not a negative just a warning. It wouldn't keep me from coming back. The staff was helpful. I forgot some toiletries and the front desk was able to provide.

I remain impressed with the Charles Hotel. The rooms are very comfortable. The location perfect when doing things around Harvard Square. The restaurant and bars are great and the the staff very helpful. Well worth the price.
