"This was the most amazing hotel experience! The location was ideal, the room was exceptional, and they brought treats to my room daily. The bar at the hotel was nice and the restaurant - which I tried for breakfast and dinner - was outstanding. I would recommend this hotel as the THE hotel to book while staying in Lisbon."

Really friendly staff, they generously allowed me to store my bags a night before check-in and were amazing throughout the stay. I forget names, but I think it was Suzanne who assisted me initially. Everuone was lovely. Ah - the breakfast buffet is REAL - has great options and is not a sham as many places offer."

"I asked for a quiet room and was put into the stairway (essentially a cubicle carved out in the stairway and used as a room), where it was cold and dingy. The bed was attached to the floor, and navigating the space was awkward, even to reach the balcony required some sort of gymnastics exercise. I’m not sure what this is, but definitely not a standard double room in a 3 or 4 star hotel."

"The location is awesome, rooms and common areas are clean (but not as shown on Expedia), my partner and I are in our late 60’s and we were given a room on the 3rd floor. Office was on 0 so that left 4 flights of stairs to carry luggage. There was also an elevator that went from 1st floor to 2nd, so up a flight of stairs to 1st floor and you had to walk your bags around a couple corners then the small elevator went from 1-2nd floor you then went back around a few corners and climbed up several flights of stairs to 3rd floor. It was extremely inconvenient and painful for us to manage our own bags. After storing our bags the 1st afternoon we did find our bags in the room. We assumed there would be help upon departure but there wasn’t. The petit desk gal was willing to help - but she had to watch desk and really wasn’t too much help. She was the only real helpful polite and considerate person we found at the often unstaffed desk. When we arrived it took 10 minutes at least for someone to come open front door. Breakfast started at 8 which is a bit late for tourists. In order to make tour we wanted coffee at 7:40. There was nothing available from breakfast and no coffee service even when we brought our own coffee. There were no takeaway cups. I would never go back. We paid for a 2 room suite with patio and view. It had a TV room with small hard couch, a bathroom in the middle and 2 twin beds in adjoining rooms. We thought beds were separate."

"The building is quite rustic and reception employees friendly. We were shown to our room which was in a different section of the building, it's an old building with winding stair case, old lift, lots of corridors with relics on the walls & then the room doors are quite narrow! The room was spacious with a large double bed, chair, wardrobe & desk with an old radio player & coffee machine, the decor was very rustic - window shutters used to frame a picture, bed headboard on the wall as another feature, side table lamps made our of steel pipes! All adding to the rustic look & feel until you then saw a modern TV on a shelf!! Personally I would take the TV's out as ruined the look of the room. The bathroom was a good size with a large walk in shower. The breakfast room was back in the main building, simple affair with fruit, yoghurts, cereals, pastries, hot eggs & pancakes could be ordered separately. Everything you needed to start your day. The area around the hotel was nice, fantastic view point directly across the hotel which was lovely. A little bit noisy at night but you are in an area with bars & restaurants near by so to be expected, it's also a residential area so busy/noisy early morning, you can shut the window shutters completely which blocks most of the noise out. Overall a nice hotel with rustic charm which was good value for money."
