With new restrictions and safety precautions in effect, travel looks a bit different these days. These are some handy things to know before you pack your suitcase for Malcantone:

• Research what rules and restrictions apply to both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so make sure you check in advance.
• Keep your face mask on during airport screening. A TSA employee will require you to temporarily lower your mask for identification purposes.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA officer. Instead, place your pass on the scanner and then hold it up for inspection.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will need to be removed from your bag at the X-ray machine for screening.
• Put any personal items (phone, wallet and keys for example) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during screening.
• If you're planning to take food through security screening, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to touch your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
