Our second stay at La Residence and we love the place. The views from the rooms across the Old Port are just stunning - we slept with the curtains open so we could take in the view from bed! The rooms are large and comfortable, likewise the bathrooms. Not luxurious exactly but all one needs is there, and the decor is fun and idiosyncratic.

This was our second time staying and we were not disappointed! Beautifully clean and comfortable rooms, great amenities and helpful staff. We had a slight problem with our shower but it was resolved immediately. Would recommend every time!

Lovely spacious room for a family of four. So close to the train station for an overnight stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy walk into the old port for sight seeing. Very beautiful and comfortable room. Would happily book again.

Having resided at glamorous 5-star hotels around the world with varying satisfaction, we had low expectations for the C2 especially when we arrived to the hotel. The entrance is what you would expect at a low-level budget hotel. Tiny, on a narrow back street and very unattractive from the street. Everything you needed from hotel. Comfortable bed, good shower and super location for visiting Marseille.

On our arrival at the hotel we were met by two members of staff in the foyer who took our bags from us and accompanied us to reception where we were introduced. The reception staff were lovely and went out of their way to make greeting friendly and warm. We were offered a choice of rooms, some with a supplement, but, having seen the choices, we decided to stay on the first room offered as it was larger and more comfortable. I stayed here for a week. I asked for a room overlooking the port at the back of the hotel - the front is in a narrow street behind. The view was amazing. My room had two large windows and was spacious and very clean. The bed was heavenly - the most comfortable I have ever had apart from home. I didn't eat breakfast there - at €23.50 it seemed very expensive. There is a lovely bakery next door and a coffee machine in the room. There isn't a restaurant in the hotel, apart from at breakfast, but...

Lovely hotel, great stay and well placed for the old port

Highly recommend - we really enjoyed our stay here. Reasonably priced and very clean. Only criticism is we thought the breakfast was too expensive for what you got. But didn’t impact our stay at all.

Fabulous stay from 2-4 August 2014. What made it so special was the amazingly helpful staff, particularly on reception, concierge and valet parking - genuinely wonderful people where nothing is too much trouble.
