"Perfect downtown location and exceptional service! We have stayed at this hotel a few times now, and it never disappoints. The location is unbeatable—everything downtown has to do is within easy walking distance, with fantastic restaurants and shops right down the street. The lobby is absolutely beautiful, and the staff are always incredibly friendly and helpful. We love coming back here and highly recommend it!"

"The hotel is a little tired but the staff were great and the suite we had was comfortable and spacious. The hotel is right in the middle of downtown Victoria so was noisy on the Saturday night - to be expected. I will however, never understand providing tv with terrible cable channels and no Netflix - this is 2026 guys! Good value for money overall"

"First, spring for the harbour view. Some of the other rooms may have film over half the windows. Breakfast was delicious and Joseph was a wonderful server. In the Que(bar) I highly recommend asking for Rebecka - so very cheerful and willing to accommodate your requests. Also, the concierge Mira was wonderful - both before and during our stay. Tea was a little bit of a let down. We were not informed we needed to arrive on the hour. The facilities such as the pool and hot tub were amazing. Overall the Empress is lovely.1"

"Location to Victoria harbour was great. BC transit is just outside and fairly cheap for a day pass although staff weren’t able to provide information about it. Good parking including secure underground. Hot tub was okay but has no jets. Pool was an okay temperature. Nice having a restaurant onsite as this hotel does not provide breakfast."

"It appeared that rooms were freshened ever over day. I didn’t see any notification about that. If that was the case I would have expected more coffee and toilet paper. I had to call the front desk for coffee and most importantly toilet paper. Disappointed on the housekeeping yet there was a QR code in the room to leave a tip for housekeeping. Not impressed"
