We had a great time at the hotel and it was great walking distance to the beach, the pier and nearby shopping centers. Will definitely stay again.

Room was not what it was advertised as. Very dirty bathroom. Beds hard. Paid for parking and then was told that I needed to double park and if the other person needed to leave they would have to call me to move my vehicle. Really? Wasn't worth $300 a night.

This hotel didnt even have enough parking stalls for their customers.We have to pay for street overnight public parking.Customer like us should be aware about this by Xpedia or publicly informed.

Parking is very limited and by reservation only. Found out the hard way. Ocean Blvd is a noisy road all night long. Outside of those the place is charming and we felt very safe. Easy walk to the pier and beach. Staff was very helpful.

This is a great place. Just know what you're getting: a cheap hotel right by a beautiful beach, and just accept that the lower price point means there are some compromises. We stayed a week, and it really is right there by the beach. We loved it. But there were definitely bugs (we saw multiple spiders in our room and could not leave any food out for any length of time, (seriously, even an hour) or ants would find. We had to run things to the outside trash). It's also not in great shape maintenance wise in that for example, the jets on the tubs don't work, and the a/c is ancient and not in great shape. Wasn't an issue for us, but if you want privacy among roommates, keep in mind that, at least in our room, there was no door separating bed from shower/bath area, and showers were clearly visible to all in main hotel area. But it still has a charming look, the staff was nice, the location is perfect. And it's cleaned every day (I just wish they would clean sheets more often, since expecting sand to escape being in the bed after a week of beach life is improbable. They did finally change them on night 6 for us, and it was super appreciated.)

Sea Blue is like time travel to the California of the 1960s. You enter a gated walkway down to Muscle Beach, and it's as if contemporary traffic and uproar just stop. The rooms are on several levels with brightly tiled stairs and varied porches and patios. My room was comfortable and homey: mission-style carved headboard, carpenter-built shelves and clothes bar, 3-panel solid wood doors and pink and terracotta tiles in the bath, everything clean, well-maintained and functional. The decor is vintage posters. On the walkway down to the beach one can sit or lounge and enjoy the neighbors' gardens. Who would expect to watch hummingbirds feeding on lemon flowers at an LA hotel? Delightful!
