"This place thrives on location being in the heart of Lake Placid and wonderful rooms. We had an issue with parking as the valet lot was full. They only had one working elevator, which are already slow and small and shared with the staff. We did find a "secret" elevator used to access the roof top bar. This looks to be a service elevator but it was quicker than the hotel elevator. The staff was ok, reminded me more of the back up team. Not what you expect from a Portfolio hotel at the price they can command."

"La vue du balcon etait magnifique de notre chambre face au lac et les montagnes. Déjeuner varierse qui etait parfait pour les 2 nuitées. Les petits bémol: notre chambre n’était pas prête à notre arrivée à l’hôtel a 16:25. Nous sommes baignés plus de 4 fois lors de notre séjour. Température parfait mais mal chlorée (2 personnes sur 4 ont eu une conjonctivite suite au séjour). Nous avons tout de même eu de très belle nuit pour une famille de 4."

"The room was set up well for the space. The bathroom was roomy and the room was very clean. It was great having the closet to put away suitcases and hang clothes. It was nice having the fridge and sink, but I was hoping for a little more. Meaning forks or knives would have been nice. Maybe a few plates or bowls. Otherwise the extra cabinets were a waste of space."
