"We have seen some recent poor reviews - that was not our experience at all. The place was centrally located, clean, wifi worked great, large spacious rooms, friendly helpful staff and the pool was a nice spot to relax. The rooms are tile and concrete - so not much to update. We have zero complaints and would stay there again."

"everything about this property was lovely. only thing, kids could find the gaming console (not that i minded lol) and the ad made it sound like the pool was just outside but infact its a small stroll down the road. still enjoyed our swim etc but was one of the deciding factors to stay here when we thought the pool was right there. But that's nothing major, everything else was as described and beds were comfy. would recommend :) "

We spent four days in the Alamanda in a 2 bedroom suite as part of a family reunion. The suite was spacious, comfortable. clean and surprisingly well-equipped - it felt more like a home than a hotel. The location is superb - right on the beach and backing on to a creek (sadly we never saw the crocodile that was reputed to live there!). And the facilities (three pools, including one for adults only) were all we could wish for.

Fantastic location and nice quality spacious accommodation. Highly recommended!
Only comments are that the hob (2 ring) was small if you are a foody and want to cook. The air conditioning in the bedroom was excellent but none in the living room which would have been preferred. The apartments are self catering, not serviced, which was fine by us.

We arrived late at night and it took a few minutes to locate the entrance as you had to go around to the back on the property and up the drive. It was well lit. The rooms were clean, airy and spacious. The joint kitchen was also very spacious and well equipped. We were unaware it was a joint kitchen. We were able to use the kitchen at breakfast and in the evening but with four units all together this maybe be a problem if you've got several families with young children. Having the washing...

We spent a lovely holiday at the Reef House. Our timing was perfect as the hotel was very quiet. The ambience was great; the food in the restaurant superb and the room very comfortable. Palm Cove is a peaceful haven and we were able to explore the surrounding area at our own pace - The Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree Forest, the Tablelands etc... The staff were very friendly and helpful.
