The Feathers Hotel

The Feathers Hotel

8/10 Good
"Excellent location for visiting Ludlow. Near shops, pubs and the castle. Welcoming friendly staff. Good breakfast though would have appreciated some fresh fruit on offer. Had dinner one night in the restaurant- food and service good. Room clean, beds comfortable. Our room had a balcony which was good except at night as opening the sliding door was the only way to get any fresh air into the room therefore making it extremely hot. Didnโ€™t feel we could leave the door ajar as there was a staircase next to us leading into the carpark therefore felt it was a security risk. Overall though a good stay, would recommend, but donโ€™t choose a room with a balcony!"

The lion hotel

The lion hotel

8/10 Good
"The Lion Inn is an old building so one must make allowances for this which we did. The whole layout of the Inn is somewhat querky with dark coloured decor punctuated with glass wall displays which I assume were the work of Andrew Login, a local sculpture. The rooms were equally decorated in bright colours, each having a unique theme. The bathroom was modern with an excellent shower. All in all, we spent a very comfortable night with a good cooked breakfast in the morning."

"Great place to stay. Lovely, peaceful location with a tasty breakfast. We were in room 2, it was a nice big room but I feel it was overpriced for what it is. There were 3 big stains on the carpet, broken light switch near the bed, pillows were lumpy and I felt it just needed a good deep clean/freshen up. For almost ยฃ200 I was a little disappointed. Wouldnโ€™t put me off staying again as we loved the location and only a 10 minute walk into town."

"I made a last minute booking whilst on a bike tour through mid Wales. There are no rooms on the ground floor so the staff were really helpful to store my bike in a secure place as my room was on the second floor. The restaurant was closed by the time managed to shower and get myself sorted at 8.50pm, none the less there is a local Turkish place were I managed to have a delicious healthy meal to fuel me the next day. The hot breakfast at the hotel was very good."
