Downtown Houston

Houston's City centre buzzes with skyscrapers housing major corporations alongside the vibrant Theatre District. Catch a performance at Alley Theatre or cheer at the Toyota Centre where sports fans gather. Discovery Green offers an urban oasis with dancing fountains amid the business energy. The underground tunnel system connects buildings for climate-controlled walking during workdays. Weekday crowds thin on weekends, giving way to a quieter atmosphere. The MetroRail connects visitors to major city destinations with stations throughout City centre.

Museum District

Houston's Museum District packs 19 world-class cultural institutions into a walkable 1.5-mile area. Art lovers can explore fine arts collections while families enjoy the Children's Museum and Natural Science Museum with its towering dinosaur exhibits. The district blends cultural richness with outdoor beauty. Hermann Park offers peaceful Japanese gardens and tree-lined paths between museum visits. Rice University's Gothic architecture provides scholarly contrast to the modern medical centre. Convenient metro stations connect visitors to city centre Houston while keeping cars optional for museum hopping.

Montrose

Montrose delights visitors with its eclectic, artistic spirit. This trendy Houston area showcases colourful bungalows alongside renowned museums like the Menil Collection. Rainbow pedestrian crossings mark its welcoming LGBTQ+ heritage. Vintage shops and record stores line vibrant Westheimer Road. Tree-canopied streets reveal stunning murals and converted art spaces. The area balances cultural attractions with authentic local life. Visitors can explore diverse international restaurants or catch performances at intimate theatres. Walking these charming streets offers a perfect taste of creative Houston living.

Houston Heights

Historic Houston Heights combines charming Victorian architecture with a lively arts scene just minutes from city centre. Tree-lined streets showcase well-preserved homes from the early 1900s. Galleries, boutiques, and music venues create a bohemian atmosphere along vibrant 19th Street. Explore The Heights Theatre or discover unique art at the ArtCar Museum. Weekend farmers markets draw locals and visitors alike. Despite its urban location, this area maintains a distinct small-town feel with wide pavements and coffee roasters on every corner.

The Galleria

The Galleria district stands as Houston's premier luxury shopping and business hub. This upscale area revolves around its namesake mall, a massive retail paradise with 400+ stores and an indoor ice rink. Glass skyscrapers and high-end hotels create a sophisticated urban landscape along Westheimer Road. Beyond shopping, visitors can admire the iconic Williams Tower or relax at the Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park. The area offers exceptional dining with upscale restaurants serving international cuisine. While primarily designed for affluent shoppers and business travellers, The Galleria delivers a polished Houston experience.

"Breakfast is not buffet style. You get a coupon for $18 off at the front desk, but that was not explained upon check in. The waiter told me that when I came to breakfast. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. Towels and turn down service were timely. I usually have to request extra towels at other hotels. The towels were replenished every day without me having to chase them down. The elevators were fast, which was a good thing since I ubered everywhere."
