"The public areas show off the heritage of this very old house to great effect. We loved the breakfast - both staff & food were outstanding. The extensive grounds contain the Golf courses, but even with magnificent trees and the lake, there is no escape from Golf.
The only significant disappointment was Wifi coverage in the Mathern annexe. I spent far too much quality time back & forth to reception to no avail. Management seem to be addressing the issue, so fingers crossed for future guests.
Our room in Mathern was a little tired, so could benefit from a refurb. It was acceptable, however, but I expected a little better for the price.
