"The hotel is in a very central location- easy to walk to metro and only 20 min ride to Battery park where we took ferry to Statue of Liberty. It’s right next to Maddison garden square, where the Nick’s were playing. Be mindful of game schedules because it gets really busy. The location is very noisy, the room had street view- the single glass windows couldn’t stop the noise. There was construction going on till 2-3 am in the morning- good luck resting. The room was small and the “queen” beds were smaller than the double bed we have at home. I made reservation for 2 rooms one for 4 people and one for 3, but put my niece’s name for the second one. During check-in, I could only get the key for one room, not the second one. They insisted that only my niece can get it. It turned out that they put the 4 people in the smaller room with one bathroom and the 3 people in a bigger room with 2 bathrooms. There is no parking on property- just make a SpotHero parking reservation- it comes out cheeper than the hotel validation price. There is $5 fee per bag to keep them after we checked out. I made the reservation only 4 days in advance, so I didn’t have much choice- price wise it was the cheapest, but it came out about $2k for 2rooms for 2 nights - extremely expensive for what we got."
"I would highly recommend Hotel St. James to anyone travelling to NYC! The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and approachable throughout my stay. The hotel was very clean, and you can tell the property is well taken care of.
I also really appreciated being able to safely store my luggage when I arrived early before check-in. The location is amazing - only about a two-minute walk from Times Square and conveniently located near many tourist attractions, whether you’re walking or taking the subway.
Having Walgreens and Starbucks directly across the street was also super convenient. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again!"
"The location can't be beat, especially if you're visiting fthe city for Times Square and Broadway shows. The downside is the age of the property and it really shows, in the elevators, some in-room furniture, and definitely the bathroom fixtures."
"Love the location - right in the heart of it. The rooms have modern decor and are extremely spacious for NYC. Every interaction I had with staff was so nice. They’re friendly and extremely helpful. We were greeted every time we entered the lobby. Absolutely loved this hotel, the staff, and the location. "
