When our kids were young we had taken them to Schlitterbahn on a few occasions and visited The Seawall (beach) area while staying in hotels. There's a historic part of Galveston that we as adults enjoyed exploring on our own. Loved The Strand area.

So much elegance and style in a multitude of homes in the large historic neighborhood. A leisurely walk along any of the streets will be rewarded with a look at creativity in action. A walk along the Strand is nothing short of a very special treat.

I lived in Galveston for 9 years in the 80s and always enjoy returning. The Historical Society museum, harbor tour and tall ship Elissa is a must as is the Ocean Rig museum next door. A meal at Katie's at Pier 19 is lovely as is the Mosquito Cafe.

Expect to pay for parking at just about everywhere. Usually only 2.25 an hour. Not much of a law enforcement presence, but always felt like a safe friendly place regardless. Overall a very chill and friendly vibe anywhere you go. Beaches were clean.

We love this truly quirky, quiet town. They often have festivals, concerts and events scheduled on the weekends that we try to take advantage of before/after our cruises. There are historic houses with self-guided tours, museums, and attractions.

Galveston has a rich, intriguing history and seems to be currently undergoing a renaissance with many historical and Victorian era homes throughout this area of the island under restoration. Quite a unique experience especially in cooler months.

We've been visiting Galveston since 1978. Nice to see it's coming back after recent storms. It's obvious someone is spending the money needed to bring it back to life. Dead trees are quickly being replaced, etc. We truly enjoyed our visit.

So much to do here. when the beach becomes boring, Tour A&M campus, drive the go karts, tour Moody Mansion, Bishop's Palace, the Naval Museum, Moody Gardens Rainforest and Aquarium. Eat at the Rainforest Cafe, Nicks and Bennos. Go bowling.

Galveston has always had a special place in my heart. Since I was little with my grandparents I've loved the island. There are so many fun things to do like Moody Gardens, Beaches, shopping, restaurants, amusement park, tours, museums, etc
"covered parking was really nice in the building that doesn't allow pets. It was very efficient. The hotel staff was wonderful. The breakfast is just to grab and go so no real protein It would be nice to have at least cream cheese and peanut butter
we would definitely stay a game. The value is amazing. It's not walkable distance from the beach really though it does sit next to a waterpark but you don't get any discounts. It has putt golf, which is nice and their own little pool and they did a good job keeping everything really clean no weird smells or anything like that. "
"Great: location, staff, beach access across the street, indoor and outdoor pool access, excellent restaurant, "Doc Holliday's" next door and a McDonalds.
The place despite being a beach hotel was very clean. For us it is nice that it was pet friendly, for a price!"
"We had a wonderful time! The property was very kid friendly and the location was excellent. It looks like it had just been refurbished because everything looked new. Every staff member was professional and super nice. Will definitely return to the property again. "
