Fairview Trip

The outside of the property is not reflective of how nice it looks in the inside, I was happily impressed.

Small but clean and modern rooms. Full breakfast buffet is great.

Compared to other Shangri-La s Ive stayed at in other countries. This one felt a bit cheap with the layout, decor and snacks/bar in room. Very cash grabbing. Tacky lobby too. But the food as BOSK for breakfast was delicious the housekeeping staff are lovely to speak with and the room size is very big.

Stayed at the Hyatt a couple of times previously. The location, the rooms, the mini bar amenities, the champagne welcome are all difficult to beat. What was disappointing on this occasion was the Writers Room Rooftop Bar. Met at the front by a frosty receptionist who asked if we had a reservation. Made us wait outside for 5 minutes while they checked if there was a table. Went inside and the place was barely even full on a Sunday. Seating at the bar and empty tables in and out. The service was very slow. My glass of wine showed up and my friend had to wait fifteen minutes for her cocktail, despite multiple requests. All we had was a lady repeatedly apologizing and a male server saying it was in God’s hands. We subsequently moved to the bar hoping for a quicker response, only to be received by an extremely exasperated bartender at the end of his shift. A curt and rude “do you want anything?” followed. I’ve been there many times and never experienced this level of service. Again, the hotel itself is impeccable but that did dull the experience.

The rooms are very well designed and are high tech with smart lighting. The AC works well and the staff are really great. I loved how close this was the Jays arena as I was in town to watch a game. Tons of great food spots close by and there is a Shoppers and Dollorama close too. Would for sure stay here again!
