"I found myself going to this Extended Stay America as an escape from my own home. Ive been living in a studio apartment with a neighbor that has a rolling office chair on the hardwood floor that gets rolled day or night making it very hard to live, sleep or think. When I arrived late on a Sunday night I was treated kindly by Maya and after explaining my ordeal I could see she listened and even looked to see if she could get me a top floor . It wasnt available but was assured no rolling overhead chairs. The room was as quiet as a hotel can be and I was able to finally get some peace and sleep I spent 3 nights. They were friendly and accommodating the whole time. Greeted by front desk and housekeeping staff when engaged and the complimentary coffee and treats in the morning was perfect to wake up too. Vending machines were stocked and had good items. The Old Orchard Mall was close by for entertainment and food but grubhub also see delivers to the hotel without fees. The room fully suited my needs though it's a hotel that gets stayed at a lot. So the fridge was abit beaten up but it was quieter than my one at home. You could tell they clean and dust regularly. I pulled the recliner away from the wall to sit and not one dust bunny. If you are a budget traveler I definitely recommend staying here. "

"This hotel is beautiful inside! Everything about the lobby and common areas was magnificent. This hotel is also very large! I will definitely stay here next time I am in the area! The room was similar to any other Holiday inn hotel."

"Even though it was an extra charge, the ability to valet park and have in and out privileges was great. Lovely hotel."

"I didn’t know there was construction going on in the area so it was a bit congested at times but I added an extra 5-10 minutes and everything was fine. "

"Phenomenal hotel!! From the moment I walked in my room, I knew that this would be preferred choice for my next Chicago area visit. Great staff, especially the restaurant staff!! Beautiful property. Close to everything, including train!! Only cons: If you book through a 3rd party app (Expedia), let them know immediately or wake up to daily charges. Also, the $50 early check in fee... if my room is already ready, I don't understand the fee. Other than that, you'll have no regrets with The GEM of Evanston!!!"

"Very nice staff, easy check in, received warm cookies and a welcome on my tv. Nice extra touches. The only thing was the room smelled a little like cigarette smoke. Maybe from the past but I liked everything else. "
