Justin the owner was fantastic and so helpful! He recently purchased the property and plans to renovate in the low season. I think this will make an already great B&B even better. The only things I think were really missing were blackout curtains, the curtains were really flimsy and thin so we were up with the sun, and a daily housekeeping refresh. The Gingerbread mansion in Ferndale is like a fairytale that has to be seen to be believed. Immaculate Victorian decor from another magnificent era is presented in all 11 bedrooms. Afternoon tea greets you on arrival and the home cooked breakfast is right out of the top drawer, not to mention the breadth of home baked muffins and pastries you can take on the go. We saw this place by chance, but will now find reasons to go there deliberately. Thank you for the experience.
