The property was completely refurbished and reopened in April 2026. A very high standard specification, with warm coastal decor in guest rooms and public spaces. Would recommend.

Hotel room was beyond my expectations - what an incredible view from the bedroom window as well! Jetted tub and rainfall shower were highlights. I could imagine this as a cosy get away in the winter where the fire place would add to the ambience (definitely not needed for my summer stay).
Breakfast was superb, staff was friendly and Kaeden was welcoming for both the check in and check out.

A comfortable, clean and well presented hotel in a convenient location with helpful and friendly staff. In addition, an excellent restaurant serving delicious food and a very good selection of beverages. Overall, a superb hotel that is value for money and of a high standard throughout. I would strongly recommend a stay at the Magnolia. I thoroughly enjoyed mine.

Really enjoyed our stay in Sidney - the hotel is on the waterfront and close to all amenities with excellent restaurants nearby. The town has a relaxed atmosphere with good shops. A quiet, relaxed alternative to staying in Victoria. Easy access to ferry terminal. Rooms at Sidney Waterfront Inn were clean and a decent size. The hotel was quiet overnight. Reception staff very helpful. Parking on site and buffet breakfast included.

Our room was a very comfortable suite with a separate bedroom and a queen bed in the lounge area which suited our family. The kitchenette was compact but had very useful items in it. The hotel is on the main road into downtown Victoria and there are lots of buses going both ways which was excellent. Also opposite Zed is a shopping centre, you can walk across in 2 minutes, it has a great food court, lots of shops and a supermarket. The staff were fun, relaxed and very helpful. We enjoyed...

Stayed at the Coast Bastion Hotel and it was lovely.
Check in was easy, staff were friendly. Parking is available and cost $9.
I asked for a few extra things later and they were provided no problem, Robes in the room which I love. The sliders instead of slippers were ok for me but didn’t fit my husband.
The hairdryer was too small , took forever to dry my hair.
Fabulous big towels, not skimpy ones.
Amazing view of the harbour - great to see the sunset and sunrise.

I was so pleasantly surprised by the room. I was expecting it to be comfortable but a little run down. It was certainly comfortable, but also modern and spotless. The location could not have been better and my expectations were surpassed in every way. Michael deserves a shout out for being a friendly, helpful, face. Highly recommended for great value and great stay.

Lovely welcome on arrival and very accommodating with the ++ pillows for the family. Decent breakfast selection. Bit tight of a breakfast time for later risers on vacation 6-9am but manageable at a push with teenagers.
