Our stay at Hotel Ungheria was great! Good room with airco, facilities, great breakfast and excellent helpfull service throughout. A spotless and very well run family hotel. Varese itself is lovely, as well as centrally located, especially if you like to travel by public transport. Milan, Como, Lugano and more are nearby, including Lake Varese (cycle lane around it), Villa Panza and Sacro Monte. Fully recommended.

The area is the best you will find in central Lugano. There is a funicular next to the hotel taking you directly to Lugano train station. The lake is 200m walk. The service is as good as any hotel I have ever been. The staff and very friendly and helpful. They helped me plan my trip to the two main Lugano mountains. We were so lucky to find this hotel at short notice. Perfectly positioned next to the lake in Como. The hotel has only just opened after extensive refurbishment and it is beautiful. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the service was first class. The roof top bar is beautiful with views across the lake and the old town. This hotel is amazing and good value for money. Great location in the centre of town in the shopping district and just a short walk to the ferry terminal and the train stations. The hotel was conveniently located so you could walk into como city, to the ferry stop or to the train station. The food was very nice, we had the hotel breakfast each day and also ate in 2 of the restaurants and at the poolside bar. The rooms were comfortable and well cleaned with an evening turn service as well. The pool area was lovely, great pool with an amazing view of the lake plus very cold so great for cooling down after a hot day. Would highly recommend.
