"We stayed here for a week and the 2nd week at nearby Vivaz Cataratas Hotel & Resort. Same ownership. Carimã Resort has no airport shuttle from IGU. This hotel sits off of Avenida das Cataratas, a multi-lane divided highway, between the airport/tourist attractions on one side, and in the other direction the mall close by (a .75 km walk, without all sections having a sidewalk), continuing on to the center of Foz further away. Public bus 120 runs from the airport to downtown. We used it returning from downtown and the mall; however, going downtown the bus picks up on the other side, either you climb over 3 cement dividers or walk over the overpass. We had dinner (unlimited buffet) most nights at the hotel, as nothing really was walkable, with the mall being a possible exception. This is an expansive older hotel; few rooms have a balcony or large windows. The rooms and service excellent. The grounds are gorgeous, with hammocks and animals including beautiful peacocks roaming. You may hear them at night. There is a heated indoor pool and swim up bar. The bar is somewhat hidden, so difficult to hang out at the bar and talk to non-swimmers on the deck. The unheated outdoor pool was less used; however, we sat out there a lot, receiving great service from the bar. Lots of kids and organized activities for them throughout the property, the whole experience felt like being on a cruise ship. The included unlimited buffet breakfast was very complete. We would definitely stay here again."

"The hotel was clean, basic and great value for money. Best thing about it is the location to the Entrance of Iguazu Falls (around 10mins walk) and very near Parque was Aves (Bird Park - a must see and visit) and nearly opposite Wonder Park Fox (a movie theme attraction, lots of car displays, water light show etc). We had the quad room which was good and had air con, good hot shower in the bathroom. Breakfast was a good spread with some hot food, bread, cheese, salad and cakes etc. Only down side is the pool is small and was a bit dirty with leaves and other things in it, don't think it has been used for a while. There was no shower in the bathroom, it was a unisex bathroom shared between the restaurant and pool area. The outdoor shower next to the pool didn't really work either. However, it's a great place if you're staying for a night or two to see the Iguazu Falls and Bird Park, both within walking distance. If you're after a pool and amenities to relax, maybe try the bigger resort next door."
