"Firstly Rah Villas is not in Sonamarg but about 10 KMS before the town on the left bank of the Indus river so we had to come back all the way looking for this hotel in the middle of nowhere. Not that I mind middle of nowhere hotels, found this to be completely characterless and overpriced. The pretty photographs are a bit deceptive, and this hotel looks to be tailor made for online travel portal bookings from where they seem to get most of the business. They know a guest has nowhere to go for...

Best place to stay in Kargil

"Stayed at The Kargil in late March. Great property. Well done & clean rooms. Very welcoming & helpful staff. Daniel, the manager at the hotel, was also super-helpful in accomodating some last minute changes in our itinerary. The hotel is an oasis amid the hustle and bustle of Kargil and great base to explore surrounding areas of Drass and Suru valley. Highly recommended hotel if you are staying in this region"

"A perfect 10/10 stay at this stunning property in Nubra Valley! It’s one the most beautiful & well equipped resorts I have had the chance to stay in Ladakh. The rooms are nothing short of spectacular. They are spacious, clean and very thoughtfully designed. The attention to detail is commendable. The food & spa facilities were something that I was pleasantly surprised with. I haven’t had better food in Ladakh! 🙌"

"The manager and staff were absolutely wonderful. We ended up staying a second time when we had to return early from a trip. Location was great because it was away from the busy areas but walkable into Leh Market, etc. in just 10 minutes. Nice family feel to the place, would highly recommend. "

"I really enjoyed both my stays at The Pal. It's a very nice property, well-kept, a convenient short walk from the main market. The stroll down the street never got old. The room was tidy. The shower was plenty refreshing after an 8-day trek. Breakfast was good. The staff was especially friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my time at The Pal and look forward to staying again next time I visit wonderful Leh. "

"A very simple property in Leh but really good value. And the staff were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond. They even stored our luggage for us as we went for an 8-day trek. The location is also perfect for exploring the main downtown plaza. Simple facilities but the staff more than make up for this."
