We wanted a quiet hotel on New Providence Island, away from the madness of Nassau and Paradise Island, and The Island House was perfect. Situated near the Old Fort Bay it is about a 30 minute drive from downtown. The hotel itself is quite new so everything was clean and tidy. With only 30 rooms it was never busy, the gym was very well equipped (they even have two squash courts!) and the pool never full. The room was very well equipped. Excellent location with good views of the harbour and lighthouse. Frequent courtesy ferry to and from the the town side of the harbour. The pool by the bar was lively. A quieter "adult" pool 100m away was pleasant for a refreshing dip and relaxation although this pool needed some maintenance as there were several loose paving slabs around the edge of the pool. Oh my goodness if I could give this hotel a 100 starts I would do! It is simply perfect. Our room was large spacious and with a fabulously comfortable bed we overlooked the ocean.
