"Room was newly refurbed, and done quite nicely. Lots of sockets around, but decided lack of storage. Just one tiny rail with 4 hangars on it, in a double room booked for 3 nights!!! No shelving, and just one drawer in the desk. I had to keep my clothes piled on top of my suitcase, jackets hanging off the back of the chair as there were no hooks either. I asked reception for extra hangars and was told I couldnt have any!!! I was disgusted - never been refused extra hangars in all my extensive travels. There's large new TV, and the bed was comfortable. However the shower is one of those awful static ones - I have long hair and dont want to get it wet every time I have a shower! No breakfast included and parking was an extra £5 per night. But it was the hangar situation that really got me - I mean, surely they could have a supply of some cheap metal hangars to loan out to people. Also no hairdryer in the room, although you can borrow one from reception. I wont be stopping here again though."

"Th building is amazing or at least it will be when the renovation is finished. It will be jaw dropping. Absolutely loved this place, the setting was incredible and the first thing they started with, the most important thing, the beds so had an excellent night's sleep. Totally needs updating (I'm sure th teles were from the 2000s - at least 20 years old, but I was told that that was what they were doing, so by the end of the summer it should be done. I know where I'll be spending Xmas n new year ........... Highly recommended Stace"

"The grounds were superb, a lovely breakfast selection and ample parking options. If you are using the venue for a sports event you can't go wrong. we stayed in a superior room which was very comfortable, well presented and great value. "

"Great facilities. Refurb on whilst we were staying but staff didn't really go the extra mile to mitigate the changes lots of hassle on check in. Asked for an invoice for business expenses as need VAT one. Hotel said they can't provide this despite the fact I have one from another Holiday Inn I stayed at 3 days ago on the same trip (also booked through Hotels.com). Asked for a credit card for room security expenses in case of damage - again the earlier Holiday Inn from the same trip didn't need this so seems to be different protocols between hotels in the chain? Hotel were also complicated about using pool. Can't use it after check out and this wasn't communicated on check in so worth being aware of this limitation. They did extend check out to allow this so resolved in the end but worth being aware of. "

"Room was clean, could do with improvement bathroom door at the bottom was a bit rotted, shower cubicle was a bit grubby, but overall no complaints, bar was lovely and clean, had a drink was a bit pricey, but that’s hotels for you, overall an enjoyable stay, staff were very friendly and helpful."

"On arrival we were told the boiler wasn't working so no hot water or heating, however we were moved into another room which did have heating and electric showers after half an hour so no issues there. Breakfast was lovely and surrounding area great for walking etc"
