"First of all, ALL of Lima is loud and dirty so expect some kind of a reflection of that fact in any budget hotel in Lima. It is part of the experience. That given and compared to EVERY other hotel I identified in Lima on Expedia or on foot Hotel Maxys Grau was the best value for the cost. Lima is EXPENSIVE too, unlike Colombia that I have more acclimated to. Everything cost more here than in Colombia or Mexico, so expect to pay more for the same luxuries. "Very close to Starbucks, Wong Grocery, very good restaurants of wide variety. One block from Javier Prado a major street where one can take a bus, only 8 soles to go to Mall, easy and safe to walk. Walking distance to Country Club hotel but an inexpensive taxi ride if elderly."
