"The room was clean, and the staff were generally friendly and accommodating. However, several issues affected our overall experience. During our three-night stay, there was construction work directly in front of the hotel that continued throughout the night, making it difficult to get a good night’s rest. Our room was also located next to the elevators, so we frequently heard guests talking and passing by while waiting for the elevators. Housekeeping service could also be improved. When we ran out of the two complimentary tea packets and requested a refill, we had to call three times before they were delivered. Another inconvenience was the hair dryer, which stopped working on our second day. We ended up purchasing our own replacement. Interestingly, our friends staying in another room experienced the same issue, but the hotel provided them with a different model that worked very well. It would have been helpful if the hotel had offered us the same solution. The laundry facilities were also insufficient for the number of guests. With only three washing machines available, we had to wait until midnight to do our laundry. On the second day, there must have been some issue with sewage, the whole lobby and the fromt smelled very stongely of sewage. Overall, while we appreciated the cleanliness of the room and the friendliness of the staff, the noise, maintenance issues, limited laundry facilities, and inconsistent service made our stay less comfortable than expected. "Hotel is immensely pretty and very rustic. Location is right in the heart of Nanluoguxiang. Good to explore and come back to hotel for nice tea (provided by the hotel) rest a bit then go and explore the rest of the area. It’s also very near to the Lake Shichahai and the area is very happening. Recommend at least 3D stay to fully soak up the vibe of the local culture and food there. We got upgraded to a nice room with an upper room on arrival. It’s beautiful and comes with a washing machine. Although hotel provides 24h tea and drinks, there is a lovely teapot in the room. Can make tea with jasmine tea leaves provided in the room. Do note that toilet tissues cannot be thrown into the toilet bowl! It’s inconvenient and uncomfortable but we realised it’s the same practice around that area. However, staff especially those that served us ie Ms Nicky and Ms Alice were superb. They are helpful and will go out of the way to help in any way they can could. One of the futon in our room was hard. They graciously top it up with another softer piece. They were also willing to accommodate us with cutleries and bowls when we brought our takeout and ate it at the hotel’s dining hall at one of the evenings. If you want to experience Chinese hospitality, this is the place."

"Cute little hotel in an amazing location! If you want to experience the charm of staying in a traditional Beijing hutong, this is the place. I absolutely loved my stay here. The staff was wonderful—especially Sherry, who was incredibly kind and helpful. They even did my laundry for free, which was such a nice surprise! Even though the hotel is in a busy area, you really don’t hear the outside noise, which was a big plus. The only thing to keep in mind is that the walls are a little thin, so if you’re a light sleeper, I’d recommend bringing earplugs as you may hear some noise from the other rooms. I would definitely recommend this hotel."
