Wonderful hotel, great staff!!! It also has a great location and a shuttle to the VA waterfront. Rooms are nice and clean, but what makes this place is the staff! They are definitely top notch. Will stay here again perfect location right next to the convention center.

It’s standard room (Queen size). It was fluffy towels, the shower was excellent. The downstairs Stella Dining and Bar was wonderful. Particularly enjoyed the salmon appetizer. Unfortunately, the shampoo was missing.

We stayed for four nights and had a wonderful experience. Our hotel room was warm, inviting and comfortable. The staff in the hotel and restaurant were all very kind, helpful and great with our kids. The complimentary shuttle to the V&A waterfront is a nice service. You can pick up the sightseeing bus from there, or across from the hotel. Overall a very pleasant and comfortable stay in a great location. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed there for a week in one room with 2 adults and 2 kids. Very comfortable room. We had breakfast included and the buffet was endless. Very classy feel throughout the hotel. Short walk to the harbourfront but they also offered hourly shuttles. Location was very convenient for all our tours and just walking around the town. We didn't use the pool - I can comment that it wasn't huge but it seemed adequate. I would definitely stay there again!

We enjoyed our stay at the Southern Sun Cullinan. The room was very clean and each day we were provided with a snack or fruit. The dining was top notch and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet each day. The staff was friendly and helpful even during checkout day when the lobby was pretty chaotic. Will stay again if we’re in Cape Town in the future.

Fantastic staff and service

Stopped at this hotel for 10 nights with the family. Facilities were great and all the staff were fabulous. They could not have been more helpful. The bar and restaurant was a good standard and very reasonably priced. The rooms were spotless but a little tired although the hotel is about to undergo a major refurb,

Beautiful hotel. We stayed here prior to and after a cruise. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from the airport. They also shuttled us to the docks to board the ship. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet (included) and the food service outside by the pool. Delicious food in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Great location to be close to the ocean and the docks. The staff were very polite and accommodating.

The staff at the Cullinan was excellent. From house cleaning, to the excellent chef, to the great bus drive..Kayah and Freddie were awesome and so many of the waiters had exactly what I wanted to drink each morning. The hotel was fine. It was clean, staff was nice and friendly. Had never been to South Africa so it wasn't in an area that I expected it to be after seeing the pictures online. But all was fine.

The hotel location was excellent. Breakfast was very good. The staff were also good in general, except the lady who made egg during breakfast. The hotel rooms were not sound proof, not even sound resistant. You can hear everything from the corridors, neighboring rooms, noise from outside, virtually everything. Not comfortable to work or sleep due to noise.

Excellent Hotel

Our stay was fabulous at this beautiful property. All the employees were so friendly and helpful. The meals at Stella were delicious. The sweet and spicy margaritas were wonderful. The wait staff were excellent. The property, rooms and lobby were extremely clean and well kept. I enjoyed one of the best massages at the spa by Lolisa! Special thanks to: John, Anthony the manager and Serina. Also, Freddy the shuttle driver was so friendly and helpful. You must select this hotel for your stay in Cape Town!

Fabulous hotel! Staff are warm & welcoming as well as accommodating any requests. Hotel overall is very good. Rooms do show a little tiredness in places however, a renovation is planned for this winter. Hotel facilities are excellent. Well equipped gym & amazing spa. Well worth grabbing a massage there! Pool towels and SPF provided which is a nice touch. Full range offered for breakfast, whatever your thing is! Self service with eggs cooked to order by the chefs. Hotel bar & café offers great selection of meals as well as drinks. Free shuttle to V&A waterfront but you can also easily walk there within 10 minutes. Fabulous stay, can throughly recommend & will stay again.

The room was dated, TV had a bad signal, shower and toilet were not functioning good. There was a bath but this is unneccessary. The gym was not well equipped. At ground floor all looked nice, cafe was good and the food in there was amazing. Personnel was friendly, also at breakfast.

I stayed at Southern Sun The Cullinan for 7 nights, 8 days, attending a conference. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from the Conference Center and is a short, safe walk over. It is also an easy walk to the V&A Waterfront from the hotel. I would take Uber to get to other neighborhoods. The hotel was absolutely lovely. Newly refurbished with comfortable and clean rooms, a lovely bar with friendly staff, where we gathered every night, and a nice spa and beautiful pool. Breakfast was excellent every morning. Ms. Angie at the egg station and Mr. Mike at the piano made every morning extra special. I can't possible give enough compliments about the hotel staff. Every single staff member at the front desk and concierge was friendly, kind and so helpful. They helped connect us with a reliable driver at the last minute when we wanted to go out exploring the peninsula. The only inconsistency I experienced was with housekeeping. My room was always cleaned on time and cleaned well, but every day, something was forgotten. One day face towels were not replenished, another day the water bottles were not replaced, etc. But it wasn't enough to affect my overall experience. I would just call downstairs and ask for what I needed. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cape Town.
